Your focus

As a Senior Backend Engineer with a focus on data at GEEIQ, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable and robust backend systems, ensuring an efficient and reliable flow of data across our platforms. This position demands a thorough understanding of backend architecture, data modelling, and API development for data access and manipulation.

We are looking for a seasoned and passionate Senior Backend Engineer who thrives in a scaling organisation and is adept at managing large-scale data projects. The ideal candidate will blend deep technical expertise with leadership and communication skills to drive projects and team success. As a growing team, the ideal candidate will have experience growing and leading teams, complex projects, and scaling both engineering teams and businesses as a whole.

- Design and implement efficient, scalable, and reliable backend systems.

- Optimise data processing and automate routine tasks to improve data throughput and quality.

- Develop and maintain data pipelines.

- Manage and optimise SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.

- Implement and maintain data lakes and storage solutions.

- Build APIs for data access and manipulation to be used by web and mobile applications.

- Integrate with external data sources and APIs to enhance our data capabilities.

- Implement systems to monitor and ensure the quality and accuracy of data.

- Work closely with the data governance team to implement policies and best practices.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and meet data requirements.

- Lead data-related projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.

- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in backend and data engineering.

- Contribute to the strategic planning of data initiatives and improvements.
