Our Power Economics team offers analyses focused on the understanding and the study of the financial and physical operation of the electric power systems including generation and grid planning, system optimization, asset valuation, competitive power markets and energy policy implications. Our software business plays a critical role in delivering these solutions by developing and maintaining cutting-edge analytics platforms for production cost modeling, capacity expansion, reliability assessment, market simulation and both steady-state and transient stability simulation. We are looking for a highly motivated QA Engineer Specialist to join our engineering team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and scalability of our web applications by building robust automated testing frameworks. Job Description

Degree Requirements: Bachelor's Degree

Minimum Years of Experience: 2 to 4 years

Education in: Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

Technical Skills:

• Experience in Test Automation using Playwright and specifically writing code in Javascript and Python
• Exposure in Performance testing using JMeter
• Experience in API Automation testing, Specifically Postman/Playwright or RestAssured alongside SOAP/REST
• Strong Manual testing capabilities to derive Functional, End to End, Integration cases
• Experience in executing and monitoring automated test suites with Jenkins execution
• Experiencce in any Project management tools like Trello/Rally/ADO
• Knowledge of Docker and/or Kubernetes for testing environments.
• Proficiency in Git/GitHub for version control and collaborative code reviews.
• Exposure to Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and their respective testing/deployment pipelines.

Essential Responsibilities: 

Responsible for testing a feature and or a small feature set. Contributes to the team and works with direction from Senior Team Members or management.

 In this role, you will:

• Break down problems and estimates time for quality related tasks
• Demonstrate increasing expertise in application domain and functional areas
• Apply various testing types and methodologies effectively during SDLC
• Take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary
• Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques
• Work independently and delivers testing and use case creation which meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project
• Write effective tests according to best practices so that crucial functional requirements are verified, and tests remain valid when code is refactored
• Collaborate with Quality Leaders in creating test plans
• Contributes to the definition of quality metrics and follows established best practices and coding patterns
• Design and implement strategies for managing complex test data across multiple environments.

Desired Characteristics: 

• Have a solid understanding of the underlying infrastructure needed to run a large distributed web application
• Experience in Power Systems domain software will be huge advantage
• Should have ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks
• Should have ability to make basic technology choices based on experience
