The candidate should possess strong hands-on experience in Prepare and review MV Equipment Technical Specifications, Datasheets, and Purchase Requisitions, vendor offer evaluation, technical bid analysis, Layout & Section Drawings, Equipment Sizing, Switchyard Electrical Equipment specifications, GA Drawings, STATCOM yard and Valve room Layout preparation, Cooling System Arrangement, Interfacing points etc. and site pre-commissioning work. Experience of working in 1 – 2 STATCOM/HVDC project will be preferred.

These systems are used to control power system voltage and reactive power flow as well as to improve the power system stability and transmission system efficiency. We are looking for Engineering Professionals to join the FACTS Solution Line team. The position will be based in Noida, India with remote working flexibility. You will be working on cutting edge technology and varied international high-profile projects. In this position, you will be reporting to Engineering Manager – Electromechanical, Noida office and it can be considered a top priority position to perform in a critical engineering discipline for overall FACTS business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • MV Equipment engineering: Deep technical expertise on MV switchgear, Power transformers, Reactors (air-core / iron-core), Capacitors, Busbars and cables, Wall bushings, AC CT, DC CT, PCR, AIS Circuit Breakers, CT, VT, Surge Arrester, DS, ES, Auxiliary Transformer, Grounding Transformers etc.
  • Prepare equipment technical specifications, datasheets, and purchase requisitions, vendor evaluation, technical bid analysis, vendor drawings/documents approval, manufacturing clearance, FAT, Site pre-commissioning support etc. for above equipment.
  • Electrical clearances and insulation coordination, short circuit forces, thermal limits, Earthing & lightning protection design & Busbar sizing etc.
  • Expertise on Layout preparation and BOQ generation using REVIT for STATCOM yard MV bays is preferred.
  • ITO (tender) drawings, BOQ estimation, RFQ finalization & evaluation of various components, selection of equipment with best pricing options.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • MV systems & substation design
  • FACTS/STATCOM configurations
  • IGBT Valve configuration and Layout design
  • Valve cooling system

  • Familiarity with:
  • AutoCAD
  • 3D tools (e.g., Revit – preferred)

Interface & System Integration

  • Interface with:
  • Primary electrical design team
  • Civil & structural engineering
  • Control & protection teams
  • Installation and commissioning teams
  • Ensure alignment between electrical schematics and physical layout.
  • Manage interfaces with grid/substation infrastructure.
  • Co-ordination and integration with Automation, Civil & MEP.
  • Co-ordination of site & office team for execution of project

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 8 – 12 years of relevant experience in Substation/FACTS/HVDC Projects.
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience specifically in STATCOM/FACTS/HVDC projects.
  • Experience in utility scale grid integration and EHV substations preferred.
  • BTech/MTech degree in Electrical Engineering preferably in Power System.
  • Strong prioritizing and time management skills.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong understanding of FACTS and Power Electronics applications.
  • Deep knowledge in IEC/IEEE/CIGRE standards related to harmonics and insulation coordination.
  • Strong cross functional coordination skill.
  • Attention to detail and maintain engineering quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadline.
  • Effective communication with global teams.
