Job Description Summary

As a Summer Intern – SW Developer, System Tools, you will work within the Systems Engineering team of the Monitoring Solutions business within Patient Care Solutions of GE HealthCare in Finland. You will develop tools and utilities that help our Systems Engineering team to document the design and compliance of our next generation patient monitor system for regulatory submission and commercial purposes. You will have opportunity to work with the top experts in the medical device industry and learn from them.
Patient Care Solutions develop medical devices and technologies that help sustain life, and support patient care in every setting throughout the hospital environment. Our teams use every moment to provide clinicians and frontline caregivers with a variety of life-changing medical solutions in monitoring, diagnostic cardiology, acute care, anesthesia and respiratory care, and maternal and infant care.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Design and develop SW tools/utilities in close cooperation with system designers and software developers to understand their needs.
• Learn, debug, experiment, hack existing tools to fix problems, improve functionality, introduce new features.
• Innovate, propose, develop and test different usability and performance improvements, script and automate routine tasks.
• Document tools design and user instructions.

Qualifications and experience

• Currently pursuing a BS/MS degree in IT/Computer sciences.
• Basic knowledge of and experience with Python (JavaScript is a plus), C#, .NET.
• Experience with MySQL database development and its connectivity with .NET Windows applications.
• Good spoken and written English
• Self-driven problem solver, curious, eager to learn and experiment.

Desirable skills

• Proficiency in Python and/or other scripting languages.
• Knowledge of and experience with software test automation frameworks (Selenium Remote Control, Jenkins, Robot is a plus).
• Knowledge of and experience with HTML is a plus.
