Join our team as a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, responsible for designing, deploying and managing scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS. The role involves implementing automation, monitoring systems, ensuring compliance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support our growing business needs.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

1. Cloud Infrastructure Architecture:

  • Design scalable, reliable, and cost-effective AWS cloud infrastructure solutions based on business requirements.

  • Architect solutions that leverage AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, and others.

  • Define and implement best practices for cloud architecture, including fault tolerance, high availability, and disaster recovery.

2.     Infrastructure Deployment and Automation:

  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK.

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment, testing, and monitoring of infrastructure and applications. –

  • Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

3.     System Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and cost metrics using AWS CloudWatch and other monitoring tools like Datadog, Kloudfuse etc.

  • Identify opportunities for optimization and cost reduction and implement strategies to improve efficiency.

  • Perform capacity planning and scaling to accommodate changing business needs.

4.     Security and Compliance:

  • Implement security best practices to protect data and infrastructure assets.

  • Configure IAM roles and policies, encryption mechanisms, network security controls, and access controls.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).

5.     Troubleshooting and Incident Response:

  • Troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues and incidents and provide timely resolution.

  • Conduct root cause analysis for critical incidents and implement preventive measures.

  • Maintain documentation and runbooks for troubleshooting common issues and procedures.

6.     Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the requirement and design solutions that meet business needs.

  • Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and management to provide status updates, gather requirements, and present technical solutions.

7.     Knowledge Sharing and Mentoring:

  • Stay current with AWS best practices, trends, and emerging technologies.

  • Share knowledge and expertise with team members through training sessions, brown bag sessions, and documentation.

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices and career development.

8.     Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Identify areas for innovation and propose new technologies or approaches to enhance the infrastructure and development processes.

  • Actively contribute to the overall improvement of the team's capabilities and efficiency.

 Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with at least years of experience 10 years

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in AWS multi-account Network design (VPC, Transit Gateway, Route Table, VPC Lattice, Firewall, WAF, Route 53, Interface endpoints etc.)

  • Expertise in AWS services like IAM, EC2, EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, MSK, Secrets Manager, API Gateway, NLB, ALB etc.

  • Expertise on management & administration of Kubernetes clusters.

  • Strong understanding of AWS architecture patterns, and best practices.

  • Experience in setting up and managing multi-account large scale AWS environments.

  • Strong background in automation, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code practices (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Crossplane, CDK etc.)  

  • Deep understanding of AWS security best practices and compliance standards – AWS Config, KMS, CloudTrail, AWS Organizations, Amazon Inspector, Security Hub etc.

  • Strong understanding of AWS Well-Architected Framework and ability to access/optimize the new/existing workloads on AWS.

  • Experience with configuring, customizing, and extending monitoring tools (Datadog, Kloudfuse, Grafana, Splunk, etc.)

  • Good understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (Git).

  • Any of the following AWS Certifications is a plus:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect

  • AWS Advanced Networking Speciality
