About the role: 

Gartner is seeking a well-rounded and motivated application Developer for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at a range of iOS and Android devices including mobile phones and tablet computers.  This role will be part of Gartner’s Engagement Center of Excellence, which is responsible for all client-facing applications across web and mobile channels, as the primary means of delivering insights to our clients on their mission-critical priorities. This role demands a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of innovative solutions.

What you will do:

• Understand Gartner’s domain, business model and work with business stakeholders to achieve objectives and goals by contributing to the development of a world class client experience.
• Design and build cross platform or native applications for the Android platform.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Collaborate within the team to ship new features.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
• Help maintain code quality and automation.
• Work proactively in a fast-paced dynamic environment
• Owns success – Take responsibility for successful delivery of high quality and innovative mobile features.

What you will need:

Strong IT professional with 4-6 yrs. of experience in mobile application development with combined experience in developing cross platform and native Android apps. The candidate should have strong qualitative and quantitative problem-solving skills along with high on ownership and accountability.

Must have:

• Should have a total experience of 4-6 Years in android application development using Java or Kotlin as well as hybrid frameworks such as React native.
• Hands on experience in designing and build applications for the Android platform using cross platform technologies like React native or Flutter, bringing in deep core technology expertise and relevant business knowledge to the team.
• Ability to package and deploy code to both iOS and Android devices using the cross-platform technology.
• Fast-learner and proven critical-thinker; able to assess complex issues and mitigate risk, skilled in analysis, troubleshooting, and process improvement and oversight
• Extensive experience in Android, Java, Kotlin, Storage (Local storage / SQLite / Room), OOPS, Design principles/SOLID, MVP/MVVM, Unit Testing
• Experience in Android Core Components (Services, Broadcast receiver etc.), Android Architecture Components and Design Patterns
• Experience in Retrofit, Material design, Push Notification, Gradle, Maps, Asynchronous Programming, Multithreading, DI/Dagger, Build Deployment, Security and Performance best practices.
• Knowledge of high-quality professional software engineering practices for agile software development cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with the team to define, design, and ship new features and sustenance activity.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, Bitbucket, SVN etc
• Passionate about building great solutions.

Who you are:

• Graduate/Post graduate in BE/Btech, ME/MTech or MCA is preferred.
• Excellent communication and prioritization skills.
• Able to work independently or within a team proactively in a fast-paced AGILE-SCRUM environment.
• Owns success – Takes responsibility for successful delivery of the solutions.
• Strong desire to improve upon their skills in software development, frameworks, and technologies
