The Role
We are currently looking for a Gameplay Engineer for Common Ground World. The ideal candidate must have experience and knowledge of C# game development, a self-starting, hands-on attitude, and an entrepreneurial spirit for technical excellence. This is a heroic opportunity to change the play-to-earn blockchain gaming space while thriving in a solid engineering team.
You will be a part of a company of super-achievers who work together to bring forth the evolution of entertainment. The ideal candidate has prior blockchain, experience, excellent people skills, business acumen, and an exemplary work ethic. We want someone with experience and passion for web3, cryptocurrency, and NFTs. We would love someone with a deep passion for games, strong product management skills, and an impressive track record for working in a fast-paced, evolving, creative-minded environment.
Responsibilities
- Strong communication skills via Jira tickets, code comments, Slack, and meetings
- Test changes thoroughly
- Daily collaboration with other engineers and QA to build new game features and fix bugs
- Solve performance problems such as race conditions and memory
- Optimize aspects of the products: boot time, runtime speed, size, network efficiency
- Receive requirements from team leads
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- At least 2+ years professional experience in C languages (C++, C#, C)
- Strong work planning/sprint preparation, and time management skills
- Strong computer science skills
- Positive and articulate communication and interpersonal skills, both spoken and written
- Self-motivated, stellar work ethic, detail-oriented, fun collaborator
- Has experience with networking, client/server tech, REST APIs
- Intermediate experience with Linux

Nice-to-Have Skills and Qualifications
- Has worked with the rendering engines such as Godot or Unity (Godot preferred)
- Common DevOps technology: GitLab pipelines, AWS, Terraform
- Game industry preferred
- Docker and other virtualization technologies
- Knowledge in blockchain, NFTs, and cryptocurrency
- 2D and 3D math
- Driven, passionate, and experienced with games
- Prior experience with web3
