The Role


As the CTO of Infrastructure, you will oversee the DevOps team while taking a hands-on approach to designing and maintaining our cloud infrastructure. You will serve as the principal architect for cloud solutions, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure systems are implemented. You will also automate deployment pipelines and improve operational efficiency through infrastructure as code (Terraform). Blockchain experience is highly desired.

You will be a part of a company of super-achievers who work together to bring forth the evolution of entertainment. The ideal candidate has prior blockchain, experience, excellent people skills, business acumen, and an exemplary work ethic. We want someone with experience and passion for web3, cryptocurrency, and NFTs. We would love someone with a deep passion for games, strong product management skills, and an impressive track record for working in a fast-paced, evolving, creative-minded environment.

Responsibilities


  • Lead and mentor the DevOps team, establishing best practices and driving technical excellence.
  • Design and architect cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of application build, release, deployment, and configuration activities.
  • Establish and promote best practices for continuous integration and continuous deployment
  • Ensure proactive monitoring, alerting, trend analysis, and self-healing systems are implemented and maintained.
  • Manage our cloud environments per company security guidelines.
  • Collaborate with development teams to discuss, analyze, or resolve usability issues.
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, driving restoration and repair of service-impacting issues.
  • Document and design various processes, update existing processes, and innovate for better system performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Terraform scripts to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Build and optimize Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline deployment processes.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure the infrastructure's health and performance.
  • Work closely with developers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure infrastructure meets the evolving needs of the product.
  • Design and maintain infrastructure solutions specific to blockchain technology (if applicable), including nodes, validators, and consensus mechanisms.
  • Ensure the highest standards of security and compliance for all infrastructure, with a focus on protecting blockchain assets and data.

Essential Skills and Qualifications


  • Proven experience as a DevOps Leader, ideally within a blockchain or Web3 company.
  • 7+ years of experience in managing Linux-based infrastructure.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience, at least in one scripting language.
  • Expertise in cloud architecture (AWS, GCP, Azure) and infrastructure design.
  • Strong understanding and experience in managing and deploying applications in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service.
  • Proven experience with automation/configuration management using either Ansible, Chef, or an equivalent.
  • Solid experience with Docker containers and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD tools such as Gitlab CI, Travis CI, CircleCI, etc.
  • Deep understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, SSL/TLS, Layer 3 and Layer 7 load balancing, etc.)
  • Proficient in Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Strong experience in managing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Deep understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of blockchain infrastructure is highly desirable.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, etc.).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills and Qualifications


  • Hands-on experience with blockchain platforms (Ethereum, Solana, Hyperledger, etc.).
  • Knowledge of security best practices in blockchain and cloud environments.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, GCP Cloud Architect, etc.).
  • Passionate and driven to work in an innovative environment
