Summary

This Maintenance Reliability Engineer is responsible for leading reliability improvements for assigned areas by focusing on improving uptime and reliability to meet business needs.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Implement risk management strategies to include predictive and preventive maintenance activities on critical mechanical and electrical systems (vibration analysis, lubrication oil analysis, motor circuit evaluation, corrosion monitoring, thermography, equipment laser alignment, etc.)

  • Ability to utilize FMEA on rotating equipment, piping systems, electrical systems, and instrumentation systems for failures and provide solutions to eliminate or extend the time between failures.

  • Conduct and or lead breakdown analysis investigations, perform various Root Cause failure analysis, such as Fishbone analysis and focused improvement activities, ensures follow up corrective actions are prioritized, completed, and shared with the broader GAF network.

  • Identify Precision Maintenance techniques which are critical for equipment reliability, and collaborate with Maintenance Supervision to ensure compliance.

  • Work closely with project engineers and or plant personnel to establish and enhance design standards that minimize life cycle costs and support high reliability

  • Remove process bottlenecks while utilizing continuous improvement techniques to drive changes required to remove obstructions and limit downtime.

  • Systematically review and update Preventative Work Instructions to effectively mitigate known failure modes on critical equipment. Update PM and PdM Strategies based on FMEA and RCFA findings after breakdowns occur.

  • Review engineering specifications and drawings, propose design modifications to improve reliability within cost and business requirements
     

Physical Demands

  • Required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls

  • Required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
     

Under This Roof, We Require

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil)

  • 3 years of demonstrated experience in maintenance and reliability

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply safety principles

  • Ability to use a CMMS (Maximo preferred) and Google Office or Microsoft office products

  • Knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, lubrication

  • Knowledge of Vibration Analysis, Thermal Imaging, Oil Analysis, Non-Destructive Testing, and Precision Maintenance methods

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, prioritize, and execute plans to deliver results on multiple projects and tasks to achieve critical operating objectives
