Technology Support Engineer

Job Purpose:

The role holder is self-sufficient when resolving routine problems or enquiries across several products or technologies for multiple customers.  The role holder is competent when working under pressure and has a degree of autonomy when dealing with unexpected problems, more complex escalations and helping to maintain the availability of the IT services delivered to end users. The role holder also delivers low to medium complexity work packages as part of customer implementation projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design, install and test RHEL OS based on client requirement.
• Design, setup and test any middleware such as PostgreSQL, DNS, Redhat Jboss  etc.
• Design, configure and test  any network products independently based on client requirement
• Understand the non-functional requirement such as reliability, availability, serviceability, performance and security.
• Lead or mentor junior engineers
• Conduct review of technical work outputs.
• Assists senior engineer to control/manage progress, issues , risk , quality, delivery and productivity.
• Other possible tasks: 
  - Customer project (Configuration Design and Documentation)
  - Remote Infra Construction (non-DDH)
  - Test result check
  - Acceptance check
  - Documentation - create manual, create operation flows
  - Improve the environment of the operation rooms such as security and/or network
• Lead in team's operational tasks (internal operations)
• Execute mutually agreed plans for the benefit of the customer
• Support the Team Leader or Senior Engineer
• Performs any other related tasks assigned by the direct Supervisor or Manager.

Skills & Experience:

• Infra Network, Operations and/or Configuration experience
• Background on Windows (with Linux is a plus)
• Experience on design, install, test and set-up of Unix OS-based environment
• Experience on middleware such as PostgreSQL, DNS, Redhat Jboss etc.
• Experience on Design, configure and test of any network products
• Able to explain the logical basis/reasons required when designing, installing and testing
• Understands the non-functional requirement such as reliability, availability, serviceability, performance and security
• Operations: eligible for any of Redhat or ITIL certification
• Configuration: eligible for any of Redhat, Oracle Master, AWS, Google Cloud, MS Azure certification
• Network: eligible for any CCNA/CCNP, PSE Professional/PCNSE, CompTIA Network certification
• Other technical experience preferred such as Java, Python, scripting
• Willing on shifting work (24x7) if experience is more on Operations
• Willing to be deployed either local or Japan short term (3-6 mos) / long term (1-2 yrs) as needed

Work Location – Open for endorsements from both Manila and Cebu.
Work Schedule – Some projects follow Japan Calendar (must be flexible to work during PH holidays).
Hybrid Setup – will depend on the project requirement; must be open to RTO.
Shifting Schedule – will depend on the project requirement; must be open to be assigned to night shift if required.
