Lead QA Engineer

Spearhead efforts to prevent financial crime by ensuring our Quality Assurance processes are optimally managed and continuously improved. Oversee our test strategy and refine processes to elevate the quality of our applications using cutting-edge technologies in a large-scale SaaS environment. 

About the Role 

As a QA Lead, you will combine hands-on testing with overseeing, improving, and directing the Quality Assurance process. You'll manage our awesome QA Engineers across multiple teams, integrating deep technical knowledge with leadership responsibilities. Your goal is to not only understand how our system behaves and how it is built but to also drive your team towards excellence in every aspect of testing and quality assurance. 

Your Mission at Fourthline 

In your role as QA Lead, your primary responsibilities will include: 

• Critically examine and champion the adoption of comprehensive QA strategies to enhance our system's reliability, scalability, and performance. Lead the planning of both manual and automated testing procedures. 
• Improve and maintain our test automation framework used for our microservices and front-end solutions. Enhance test efficiency and coverage through automation, ensuring that individual services and their integrations are tested seamlessly and thoroughly. 
• Scale-up performance testing and identify bottlenecks to guarantee that the system meets the targeted operational load and scalability requirements. 
• Champion automation enhancements to our CI/CD pipelines to streamline development, testing, and deployment processes, maximizing impact and minimizing effort for our engineers. 
• Establish and monitor key quality metrics. Report on testing outcomes and lead initiatives to address areas of improvement. 
• Lead and mentor our QA chapter, setting objectives, providing technical guidance, and fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment. 
• Level-up Quality Assurance with a pragmatic approach and skilled execution, based on an excellent understanding of various types of testing including unit, integration, contract, and component testing. 

Job Requirements 

• Strong expertise in software development and QA methodologies, particularly with Docker (or Kubernetes), and CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps. 
• Extensive experience with tools like Gherkin/SpecFlow, and Test Containers, especially in a .NET, Python, and Angular-based architecture. 
• Experience with AWS ECS (or Azure/GCP equivalents), including a hands-on understanding of autoscaling policies with Terraform.  
• Proven leadership ability with strong communication skills to manage QA engineers across multiple teams, align with Engineering Managers, and other stakeholders. 
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience using Jira/Confluence for test planning and documentation.
