The Senior Program Engineer Mechanical (SPE-M) provides technical expertise during the pre-award phase of complex engineering projects, focusing on standardization, modularization, and alignment with FedEx technical and operational requirements. They ensure scope, schedules, and budgets meet organizational standards and FedEx expectations. Acting as the primary technical liaison, the SPE-M facilitates communication between engineering, sales, and FedEx teams to support project execution.
During project handover, the SPE-M prepares risk assessments, identifies opportunities, and shares Lessons Learned to guide execution. They develop FedEx-specific specification packages, conduct periodic audits, and provide recommendations to maintain project success. Additionally, they lead multi-discipline Project Design Reviews and collaborate with the Training team to develop and deliver technical training materials tailored to FedEx’s needs.
Responsibilities:
- Gain an in-depth understanding of FedEx’s complex technical standards and project requirements to inform strategic planning.
- Promote the development of comprehensive engineering strategies, resource plans, and project timelines in alignment with multifaceted project scopes.
- Coordinate and critically review multidisciplinary design efforts to ensure seamless integration and adherence to the highest technical standards.
- Act as the internal senior technical interface for FedEx, establishing trust and guiding strategic conversations across the FORTNA organization
- Assist the strategic sourcing of materials and components, optimizing resource allocation and scheduling.
- Display superior communication skills, leading by example to drive effective collaboration and cross-disciplinary integration.

Base Salary Range:
The base salary range for this role is $100,700 to $151,100 . This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
