Description
  • The Technical Project Manager is responsible for ensuring from start to finish - the delivery of projects on time and according to the negotiated Scope of Work. 
  • The Technical Project Manager is expected to manage a virtual team comprising Customer 
    Contacts, Fortinet Sales, Professional Services, Engineering, and Technical Support to ensure a technically sound, financially profitable, supportable implementation. 
  • The position requires an individual with exceptional negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills who follows a structured approach to implementing network security solutions.
  • The Technical Project Manager should have a background in business skills, management, budgeting, and analysis. Assessing risks and developing together with the technical team solutions to mitigate those would be a key requirement.
  • The Technical Project Manager has also an in-depth project manager with specific and significant expertise in the technological aspects of the solution being proposed to customers. Its technical knowledge and field experience will help to drive scoping and delivery activities, identify technical changes and solutions, and provide the right guidance to the engineers or consultants in charge of the delivery. 
    A proven track record in the implementation of technically complex solutions is a key element of the position that is offered.

Responsibilities
• Works closely with all customer-facing Fortinet functions, including sales, operations, order management, support to 
coordinate activities.
• Builds strategic relationships to understand the needs and requirements of the customer's project.
• Manages the relationship with the customer and all stakeholders 
• Develops, negotiates and builds a Scope of Work, WBS and project schedules to match the needs of the project.
• Identifies resources needed and work with resource manager to build the right project team for the project.
• Coordinates internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
• Ensures that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
• Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
• Reports and escalates to management as needed.
• Manage escalations with all levels internally and externally to achieve success. Handling escalations can require in some instances a good understanding of the technical challenges and proposing solutions or get-well plans.
• Learn constantly about the Fortinet technology and products being deployed as part of the Fortinet SOAR solution.
• Provide technical guidance or recommendations to engineers or consultants in charge of the delivery.
• Performs risk management to minimize project risks.
• Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation.
• Effectively applies Fortinet's methodology and enforces project standards.
• Minimizes Fortinet's exposure and risk on projects.
• Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for project.
• Accurately forecasts revenue and monitor project profitability.
• Assures project legal documents are completed and signed at start of the project.
• Facilitates team and client meetings effectively.
• Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
• Assist in the development of pre-defined Professional Services scope for FortiSASE and FortiSoar.
• Lead engagement with customized scopes, such as migration strategies for clients transitioning from legacy SaaS 
solutions to modern SASE architectures.

Job Requirements
• 5+ years of experience as a project/program manager, deploying and managing security solutions across global 
enterprise, MSSP, carrier, and government sectors.
• Strong knowledge of common project delivery methodologies, including SecOps/DevOps, Agile, Waterfall, DevOps, and CI/CD.
• 5 years of experience in a technical delivery role on medium and large projects such as consultant, professional services 
implementation engineer, technical lead or architect.
• Experience with SaaS solutions, including planning, deploying, and migrating from legacy systems (on-premises or cloud) to cloud-based security platforms.
• Solid technical background in security, cloud infrastructure, and internetworking, with experience in deploying cloud based security solutions.
• Familiarity with SASE principles and use cases, including SD-WAN, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), endpoint security, and cloud access security brokers (CASB).
• Experience with SOC or NOC environments. A good understanding of SOC deployment or operation and/or typical SOC solutions or technologies (e.g. SOAR, SIEM, orchestration and automation, threat intelligence, incident response) would be a plus.
• Proven ability to handle technical escalations, working closely with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience with vendors’ Professional Services or system integrators.
• Exceptional organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
• Outstanding negotiation, oral communication and presentation skills.
• Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• React to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
• Flexible during times of change.
• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other 
departments.
• Excellent conflict resolution skills.
• Strong commitment and self-driven individual.

Education
• Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline and/or equivalent extensive work-related experience.
• PMP and/or PRINCE II certification.
• Agile or any other standard methodology or philosophy used in DevOps or product engineering

The Professional Services Technical Project Manager (TPM) works with clients and partners remotely and/or onsite on engagements of medium to high complexity for SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response) and SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) deployments. Technical Project Managers are skilled at getting the best out of the people and projects that they oversee. They thrive when planning projects and working with project teams. This is a role requiring experience managing projects from scoping to delivery, and a strong appetite to understand and address technical challenges. Attention to detail is key in this role.
