Software Developer

Fortinet is growing and we are looking to hire an Software Developer to join our team in Ottawa. At Fortinet, you will be involved in the full development lifecycle of software and product development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for development and learning new technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Write, modify, integrate and test software code.
• Develop software that has direct impact to customers.
• Review, collect, and label email samples for ML/AI models.
• Train and tune ML/AI models
• Work with big data infrastructure software, such as OpenSearch, Cassandra, Kafka, PostgreSQL, etc.
• Maintain existing software by making modifications as required.
• Work closely with other developers to triage and eliminate bugs.
• Prepare reports and other documentation.
• Provide design and development feedback, while working collaboratively in determining the best solution.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

• Strong background and working experience on ML/AI/NLP/LLM
• Experience with C/C++, python, etc. 
• Experience in SQL database, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, etc
• Software development experience in Unix/Linux environment.
• Strong background in TCP/IP networking.
• Experience in big data software is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level.  Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
