Senior IT Systems Engineer

We are looking for a Senior IT Systems Engineer to help us build and manage our R&D QA lab infrastructure. In this role, you will be based in our Sunnyvale Headquarters office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a network security company and participate in Fortinet's rapidly growing workforce.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for overseeing lab operations, ensuring efficiency, and smooth workflow.
• Manage internal projects to build new and maintain lab environments, migrate or deploy new infrastructure, deploy network design, lease and manage colo racks, and collaborate with internal and external teams in lab management-related tasks.
• Supervise all DCIM asset inventory, organizational compliance, and application security.
• Supervise data center security and integrity; monitor HVAC and manage data center space, video security, temperature, and power monitoring & alerting.
• Create standardized documentation and problem-resolution systems to better track, manage, and identify solutions.
• Evaluate data center cooling systems and work with HVAC engineers to implement actionable plans to correct issues.
• Monitor assigned incidents and changes, track compliance with service management SLAs and provisioning SLAs.
• Plan and implement comprehensive infrastructure, data center, compliance and risk management initiatives in a high-volume environment.
• Create and implement improved security measures, access methods, and system images to ensure corporate security compliance.
• Collaborate closely with the QA team to provide data center and infrastructure support.
• Deliver network implementation and remediation projects to meet demands.
• Identify, diagnose and resolve network problems, and analyze the root cause.
• Deploy, maintain, and upgrade network hardware, software, and operating systems.
• Reporting network operational status by gathering, and prioritizing information.
• Securing network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access.
• Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, and troubleshooting network problems and outages.
• Coordinates and communicates with users.
• Respond to and resolve support requests.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for support of systems outside of normal business hours.

Job Experience Required:

• 5 years of hand-on experience in managing or supporting R&Dlabs or production data center environments.
• 5+ years' of experience in network administration, data center operations, or system administration.
• Hands-on experience supporting networking in 24 x 7 enterprise environments.
• Deliver network implementation and remediation projects to meet demands.
• Identify, diagnose and resolve network problems, and analyze the root cause.
• Install, maintain and upgrade network hardware, software, and operating systems.
• Reporting network operational status by gathering, and prioritizing information.
• Securing network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access.
• Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, and troubleshooting network problems and outages.
• Coordinates and communicates with users.
• Respond to and resolve support requests.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for support of systems outside of normal business hours.
• Strong multi-tasking abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in troubleshooting network problems.
• Experience managingMPLS, IPSec VPN encryption platforms and policies.
• Certified Data Center DesignProfessional (CDCDP) a plus.
• Certifications in one or more of the following: CCNP and CCNA, Fortinet certification a plus.
• Demonstrate knowledge TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP, operation systems and applications data flows, Layer 2, 3 and 4, including VLAN, STP, LACP, VRF, RIP,OSPF,BGP,VRRF, HA redundancy, TCP,UDPand etc.
• Demonstrated knowledge and trouble-shooting experience on most used techniques or networking protocols, Routing protocols.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $135,000-$150,000. Fortinet offers employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11 paid holidays, vacation time, and sick time as well as a comprehensive leave program.

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
