Senior Frontend AEM Developer

Location: Sunnyvale, CA, United States; Hybrid

Our Web IT team partners with the Web Marketing organization to manage and continuously enhance the corporate website, 10 international sites, and blog site powered by AEM CMS. Our responsibilities include developing and maintaining AEM templates, components, workflows, and web applications; integrating the website with enterprise platforms such as Solr, BrightEdge, PMDB, and other business systems; and ensuring the digital experience follows SEO best practices and meets accessibility standards. We also implement web analytics, monitor website performance and user engagement, and develop reporting solutions to provide actionable insights for the business.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Frontend AEM Developer to join our web development team and help build, enhance, and maintain high-performance digital experiences using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and modern frontend technologies.

The ideal candidate is a strong frontend engineer with hands-on experience in AEM, Sightly, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, web accessibility, and SEO, and who enjoys working closely with Marketing and Creative teams to translate business requirements into high-quality digital experiences.

This role requires someone who can work independently from requirements through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise websites and digital experiences using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
• Build modern, reusable, and scalable AEM components using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Develop and integrate React applications and components within an AEM environment.
• Work closely with Marketing, UX/UI, Content, SEO teams to understand business requirements and deliver effective web solutions.
• Translate designs, wireframes, and marketing requirements into responsive, accessible, and high-quality web experiences.
• Ensure websites comply with WCAG accessibility standards, including keyboard navigation, screen-reader compatibility, semantic HTML, proper ARIA implementation, color contrast, and accessible forms/components.
• Implement and optimize technical SEO, including semantic markup, metadata, structured content, heading hierarchy, internal linking, canonicalization, page performance, and crawlability.
• Optimize frontend applications for performance, Core Web Vitals, responsive behavior, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Develop reusable AEM components, templates, dialogs, and frontend implementations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve frontend, AEM, accessibility, SEO, and performance issues.
• Collaborate with backend developers, QA engineers, designers, content authors, and marketing stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to frontend coding standards and best practices.
• Support website releases, enhancements, and production issues when needed.
• Stay current with modern frontend technologies, accessibility standards, SEO practices, and web development trends.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of frontend web development experience.
• Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
• Strong experience with React.js and modern frontend development.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience developing responsive websites and reusable frontend components.
• Strong understanding of web accessibility and WCAG standards.
• Practical experience implementing SEO best practices for enterprise websites.
• Experience working with Marketing, UX, Content, and other business stakeholders.
• Ability to understand business requirements and independently translate them into technical solutions.
• Experience with Git and modern software development workflows.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $104,000-$127,000. Fortinet offers employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11 paid holidays, vacation time, and sick time, as well as a comprehensive leave program.

Wage ranges are based on various factors, including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program. Bonus eligibility is reviewed at the time of hire and annually at the Company’s discretion.
