About the Role
We are looking for a strategic technology leader to join our team as the company’s first Director of Information Technology. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of IT infrastructure across our corporate functions and our growing portfolio of multifamily residential apartment buildings. Reporting to our Chief Technology Officer, you will play a key role in future-proofing the organization by ensuring we are ready to meet the technology and infrastructure challenges that arise as we grow.
Responsibilities
- Develop a strategic vision for our IT infrastructure aligned with Flow’s business objectives, build work plans to execute on the vision, and define and track progress against relevant key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Build relationships with business leaders and serve as principal advisor to the business on internal technology-related needs
- Develop an understanding of the technology needs of each of our business units, and proactively identify opportunities to accelerate business outcomes through technology
- Oversee the design, implementation, and management of the organization's technology infrastructure and network
- Build and develop a team of high-performing, business-oriented network, cybersecurity, and IT professionals capable of adapting to a dynamic business environment
- Manage all aspects of Flow’s information technology budget, and drive alignment with Engineering, Building Operations, and Finance on the ROI of IT projects
- Evaluate and select vendors as needed, manage vendor relationships, and track related spend
- Design, disseminate, and enforce IT policies and standards to ensure compliance, reliability, and security across our IT infrastructure
- Develop data and network security standards and protocols with a focus on protecting sensitive information of the business, our employees, and the residents of our buildings (our neighbors, as we call them)
- Partner with People leaders to meet our employees’ hardware and software needs, and with Building Operations leaders to address tech needs for our buildings and residents
- Establish service level agreements (SLAs) with stakeholders, ensure business-wide alignment on these SLAs, and track the team's effectiveness in meeting them
Ideal Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and 10+ years’ experience in IT and/or software development, including 3+ years building/leading an IT function
- Deep technical expertise in IT infrastructure, cloud-based systems, and network security
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work through multiple perspectives to make difficult tradeoffs
- High EQ and demonstrated ability to influence decision makers
- Superb project management skillsComfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment, operating at both strategic and tactical levels and navigating through ambiguity everyday
- Outstanding communication, organizational, and presentation skills
