Tech Lead, Systems Engineering

What does a Lead, System Engineering do at Fiserv?

A DevOps Engineer plays a crucial role in building and maintaining our automated deployment, infrastructure, and monitoring systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and operations, with a passion for streamlining processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring reliability and scalability of our applications.

What You Will Do:

• Design, implement, and maintain automated deployment pipelines for our software applications using CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Hub, Harness).
• Manage and configure cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Collaborate with development teams to streamline the build, test, and release processes and ensure the quality and consistency of deployments.
• Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring high availability and performance of our applications.
• Continuously evaluate and implement best practices, tools, and technologies to optimize the DevOps workflow and infrastructure.
• Participate in incident response and troubleshooting activities, providing support to resolve production issues and minimize downtime.
• Document and maintain infrastructure and deployment procedures, ensuring clear and comprehensive documentation for reference and training purposes.
• Provide T3 technical support for production issues.

What You Will Need to Have:

• Minimum experience with 5_ years of experience in DevOps activities.
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in software development and operations.
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Ruby, Goc, Power Shell) for automation and infrastructure management tasks.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for deploying and managing microservices-based applications.
• Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet) for automating server provisioning and configuration.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) for tracking system performance and troubleshooting issues.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex systems and optimize performance and reliability.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with cross-functional teams.

What Would Be Great to Have:

• Experience with serverless computing platforms (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions) and event-driven architectures.
• Certification in relevant DevOps tools and technologies (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Certified Administrator).
• Knowledge security best practices and compliance requirements for cloud-based environments.
