Tech Lead, Database Analysis

What does a Lead, Database Analysis do at Fiserv?

A Database Analyst plays a key role in managing and optimizing our database systems to support our business operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management and analysis, with a passion for data integrity, performance optimization, and system efficiency.

What You Will Do:

• Design, implement, and maintain database systems to support business applications and processes, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability.
• Develop and optimize database schema, queries, and stored procedures to maximize performance and efficiency.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues, identifying and implementing solutions to improve performance and scalability.
• Perform data analysis and reporting tasks, extracting insights and trends from large datasets to support business decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and priorities.
• Develop and maintain documentation for database systems, including data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in database management and analysis, recommending and implementing best practices and tools to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Provide T3 technical support for production issues.

What You Will Need to Have:

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in Database analysis and operations.
• Proven experience as a Database Analyst or similar role, with a strong background in database management and analysis.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational database management systems (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques, including index optimization, query optimization, and database partitioning.
• Familiarity with data modeling concepts and techniques, including entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs) and normalization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels. What Would Be Great to Have:

• Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience in databases like Snowflake.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and technologies, including ETL processes and dimensional modeling.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for creating interactive dashboards and reports.
• Certification in database management systems or related technologies.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to data management and privacy (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
