What does a successful Software Engineer do at Fiserv?

You will be joining the BentoBox team, which is part of the Restaurant Solutions division of Fiserv. Your work will focus on providing technical leadership while building durable, scalable applications using a variety of leading-edge tools & technologies. You will also work with designers, product managers, and other engineers to implement new features on our platform. BentoBox empowers modern restaurants to build their online presence, diversify revenue, engage with diners, and increase operational efficiency. To do so, the platform includes products such as websites, ordering (online ordering, pre-order & catering, gift cards, merchandise, tickets), events management, and marketing tools.  

Over 14,000 restaurants worldwide rely on BentoBox as their digital front door. BentoBox is trusted and loved by hospitality groups such as José Andrés’s ThinkFoodGroup and Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group and independent restaurants including Emmy Squared, Suerte, and The Meatball Shop.

What you will do:

• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and fellow engineers to bring new features to life on our platform
• Compose clean, clear, and high-quality production code
• Partner with the product and design teams to navigate the product specification, design, and feasibility process
• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests for both new and existing features, ensuring everything runs smoothly
• Offer constructive and thoughtful feedback on your peers’ code, helping us all improve together
• Stay versed by researching and recommending new technologies and help us establish best practices and coding standards
• Embrace and uphold our core mission, vision, and values as we work together to achieve our goals

What you will need to have:

• 4+ years of experience writing production-level code
• 4+ years of experience in Python is required. Our current technology stack consists mostly of Django / Python and React, but we are always looking to use the tools that are most appropriate for the task at hand
• 4+ years of hands-on experience coding within a web-based framework like Django or Rails and working with React, with or without Redux
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent preferred or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience

What would be great to have:

• Solid understanding of JavaScript fundamentals
• Experience working in a restaurant/hospitality industry
• Clear and impactful communication style and skills

Salary Range

These pay ranges apply to employees in New York and California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
