Job Title

Software Development Engineer

Responsible for API development as well as providing test and production support for the APIs. Work on the entire API development lifecycle, from designing and implementing APIs to supporting them in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust, secure, and scalable APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy APIs.
  • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing of APIs to ensure high-quality and reliable code.
  • Create and maintain documentation using Open API (Swagger) for clear and consistent API endpoints and parameters.
  • Ensure API security by implementing OAuth2, HMAC Signatures and message-level encryption and masking, as well as other API security mechanisms
  • Leverage Apigee Gateway for enhanced API management and security.
  • Perform stress testing of APIs using tools like JMeter to validate their performance under heavy loads.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting of API-related incidents, resolving or escalating issues as required. Utilize Splunk to search and analyze data for issue resolution and to identify trends and patterns in reported incidents.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to maintain excellent written and verbal communication, translating technical details into easily understandable terms.
  • Continuously improve the knowledge base and documentation to improve the development process and enhance support efficiency and quick resolution of common issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Solid experience in API development using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and hands-on experience with code versioning tools (e.g., Git).
  • Experience in testing APIs, including unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing.
  • Proficiency in documentation using Open API (Swagger).
  • Familiarity with API security best practices and patterns
  • Familiarity with API Gateway (Google Apigee preferred).
  • Knowledge of XML Deserialization with Jackson and experience with JMeter for stress testing.
  • Ability to effectively debug and troubleshoot code issues and conduct in-depth log analysis.
  • Experience with Splunk for searching and analyzing data is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate and analyze issues to provide effective solutions.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, cross-functional teams, and external partners.
  • English - Professional Working Proficiency / Intermediate (listening and speaking)
