What does a successful Senior Snowflake Database Administrator do at Fiserv?
A successful Senior Snowflake Database Administrator at Fiserv owns the health, security, scalability, and governance of the Snowflake platform across multiple accounts, environments, and business units. This role sets standards, architects secure and reliable platform administration practices, and builds automation that helps teams work more efficiently. The Senior Snowflake Database Administrator also partners closely with users, engineers, analysts, and leadership to deliver performant, cost-effective, and well-governed data solutions.

 

What you will do?

• Administer Snowflake across multiple accounts and environments, including managing warehouses, databases, schemas, roles, resource monitors, account settings, network policies, SSO/SCIM integration, and replication or failover capabilities.
• Implement and enforce security and governance controls, including RBAC, masking policies, row-access policies, secure data sharing, compliance support, access reviews, and backup and disaster-recovery strategies.
• Monitor platform health, query performance, and credit consumption, while tuning workloads, right-sizing compute, and automating cost reporting, usage dashboards, and alerting.
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code with Terraform and develop Python-based automation, tooling, and scripts for provisioning, monitoring, reporting, routine administration, and CI/CD integration.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for Snowflake users by onboarding accounts, granting access, resolving issues, providing documentation and best practices, mentoring junior team members, and advising leadership on platform strategy, capacity planning, and cost governance.

 

What you must have?

• 5+ years of experience administering Snowflake in a multi-account or organization-level environment.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience using Python and Terraform for automation and infrastructure as code.
• Experience working across 3 cloud platform options where Snowflake is deployed: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• 1 strong foundation in SQL and data warehousing concepts.

What would be nice to have?

• 1 SnowPro Core or Advanced certification.
• Experience with 3+ CI/CD or orchestration tools, such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, dbt, Airflow, or Fivetran.
• Experience migrating from 4 legacy or cloud data warehouse platforms, including Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, or Redshift.

Salary Range

$128,000.00 - $216,000.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
