What does a successful Cognos Analytics Sr. Developer / Architect (m/w/d) do ?

As an IBM Cognos Analytics Senior Developer/Architect, you will play a key role in the successful implementation and enhancement of our Enterprise Reporting and analytics solutions for our business and clients.

In this role, you will be tasked with designing comprehensive reporting models to harmonize data from multiple sources to respond to the complex needs of the business and regulators. You will work closely with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality reporting and business intelligence solutions that drive innovation and meet the ever-evolving demands of the financial services sector.

What you will do

• Design, development, and implementation of optimal BI/Visualization/Analytics/Reporting models using Cognos Analytics Data Modules, Datasets, Dynamic cubes and Framework Manager.
• Design and development of complex Cognos reports based on business specifications.
• Tuning and improvement of existing reports performance. + troubleshooting.
• Work closely with Data Solutions team members to ensure that all Cognos related deliverables, operational and maintenance tasks are performed within quality and security standards of the organization.
• Support/Train Cognos Business/Clients User to increase their efficiency and improve their reporting experience with Cognos Analytics.
• Perform additional tasks and duties as being part of the Data Solutions Delivery organization, such as collaborating with DWH Architects, Business Analysts, Developers, PMs, and other SMEs. (Subject Matter Experts)

What you will need to have

• Bachelor/master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or other relevant principles
• 10+ years of proven Experience on Cognos enterprise Solutions, Administration, security configuration, Framework and Report Development, Framework Manager, Report Studio, Query Studio. OLAP and Dimensional Modeling techniques
• Thorough knowledge of Cognos development and administration, Business intelligence, and data warehousing concepts, report and application development, Cognos testing, and troubleshooting, BI documentation, and end-user support
• Experience with IBM Cognos 11/12, Data Module, Datasets, Framework Manager, Dynamic Cubes, etc.
• Analytical and strong problem-solving skills
• Good knowledge on the software development life cycle, processes, tools, concepts and methodologies
• A passion for delivering high-quality, highly efficient, and innovative reporting/BI/analytics services to clients.
• Ability to communicate in fluent English in speech and writing. Knowledge of German language will be considered as a plus.

What would be great to have:

• Certifications related to Cognos Analytics, Business Intelligence, warehousing, or architecture.
• A history of mentoring peers and leading projects to successful completion.
• Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework and PI Planning.
• Data Engineering, Data Science and Data Analytics experience
• Cloud Data Platforms such as snowflake
