Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager Specialist to join the Capital Market Project Management Practice organization at FIS. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Agile Program Manager or Senior Value Delivery Lead with a passion for technology, customer and user experiences. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of client software delivery projects, leveraging project management best practices to improve the flow of value. This role requires a blend of project management skills, a deep understanding of software development lifecycle and a strong ability to drive continuous improvement in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.

About the hiring team

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Capital Market Project Management Practice (PMP) organization, bringing together 300 Project Managers from four different business line into one unit.  Our project managers are key drivers, managing and leading strategic client projects, with 5000+ inflight projects.

You will be part of the PMP Optimizer cluster, a newly formed group invested in shaping the Next Generation Project Managers, focusing on agile methodologies, streamlining processes and maximizing value.

What you will be doing

In your role as a Project Manager Specialist, you will

  • Project Management
    • Lead and manage software delivery projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
    • Implement and maintain lean portfolio management practices to ensure alignment with organizational goals and efficient resource allocation.
    • Identify potential risks that could impact project delivery and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Provide leadership and direction to project teams, fostering a collaborative and high performance culture.
  • Value Stream Mapping
    • Identify and map out the value streams to understand how value flows through the project
    • Continuously analyse, evaluate and optimize these value streams to eliminate waste, enhance efficiency and improve effectiveness.

  • Facilitating Agile Practices
    • Ensure the team follows Agile Methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban to maintain a steady flow of value
    • Conduct regular ceremonies like sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives to keep the team aligned and focused.

  • Monitoring & Reporting
    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cycle time, lead time and throughput to measure the flow of value.
    • Use tools like burn down charts, cumulative flow diagrams, and dashboards to report on progress and identify bottlenecks.

  • Stakeholder Management & Communication
    • Identify and understand stakeholder needs, maintain transparent and consistent communication about project progress, risks and value delivery.
    • Provide regular updates and reports to ensure stakeholders are engaged and informed.

  • Continuous Improvement
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging feedback and implementing changes based on retrospectives
    • Promote the use of metrics and analytical data to drive decisions and enhance the flow of value

Who you are matters

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or related fields. PMP, PMI or similar certification is desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years in project or program management with a focus on software delivery and lean portfolio management.
  • Change Management: Extensive experience in Change Management and Process Improvement
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in SAFe, Scrum and Kanban methodologies. Familiarity with project management tools, such as JIRA, Ms Project, Asana or Monday.com will be desirable.
  • Interpersonal skills: Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Problem solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data driven decisions.
  • Process improvement: Experience with digital transformation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and environments.
