About the team 

FIS is looking for a highly capable Director Software Engineering with an enthusiastic and pro-active approach to join the Payments business in Capital Markets, our team is friendly, fast paced, and you will be working closely with Senior Global business stakeholders.

What you will be doing

As the Director of Software Engineering, you will plan and manage application development and client delivery activities                                                        

• Designs and develops software product applications for market sale or large-scale proprietary software applications for internal use.
• Manages full software development lifecycle including testing, implementation, and auditing.
• Performs product design, bug verification and beta support which may require research and analysis.
• Resolves critical issues and contributes to the business unit/area development.
• Ensures base applications meet appropriate quality standards, adheres to the departmental application development and client delivery process standards.
• Provides input on product direction to product managers.
• Coordinates with industry compliance consultants and product managers to verify applications meet regulatory compliance.
• Ensures proper application of technology, ensures base applications meet appropriate quality standards.

What you bring:

• 15+ years of industry experience with 10+ years of experience in a Payments product-based company on technical track
• Knowledge of open source platforms and associated risks
• Executed projects for Low latency and high throughput across a technology stack
• Experience of delivery in Software as a Service model
• Responsibilities around audit conformances
• Led large product engineering teams
• Core Backend or Frontend development involving a multi-layer distributed architecture
• Agile Projects involving real-time systems and centered on improving time to market
• Building and promoting secure application development
• Delivery ownership of mission critical projects from Design and development to deployment and support in production
• At least 2 Technology upgrades such as (and not limited to) Database migration, Cloud Native applications, Unix to Linux etc.
• Framework design and development for consumption across a technology stack
• Performance measurement and tuning
• R&D for evaluating a technology and incorporating the same.
• Strength in addressing difference of opinion in technology or solution adoption
• Creative project execution using technology to solve problems rather than more resources
