Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to a software quality assurance team specializing in test automation and responsible for one or more projects
- Manage and mentor QA team members:
- Provide hands-on leadership to drive innovation
- Hold regular 1:1s with each team member
- Perform quarterly reviews with each team member
- Perform an annual review with each team member and make recommendations for compensation adjustments
- Assess and advocate potential career advancement opportunities for team members
- Communicate and direct any necessary corrective actions
- Provide test reports to management
- Lead continuing improvements in processes and practices that:
- Reduce the number of production defects
- Establish workflows that integrate into our development cycles
- Identify risks by working with the appropriate product development owners to ensure critical and high-risk items are prevented prior to release
- Lead by example
- Contribute to the design and coding of key projects and tooling
- Help drive meaningful work across the finish line
- Communicate product and company vision to team members
- Work closely with Product partners to prioritize and scope work
- Work closely with Support partners to triage and assign incoming issues
- Contribute to onboarding practices and documentation, and lead the onboarding effort for new team members
- Participate in hiring and interviewing process for potential candidates joining your team
- Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Quality
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing a quality assurance team
- Extensive familiarity with quality assurance processes and procedures, and the ability to devise methods to enforce quality standards and best practices
- Experience planning and executing end to end testing of integrated systems including validation of the integration layer
- Experience working with SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Expertise in performing different types of Testing: Black box, GUI, Integration, Regression, Backend, System, End-to-End and User Acceptance Testing
- Demonstrated leader in the coordination of cross-functional teams and champion of consistency and task completion
- Familiar with automation frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, etc.)
- 7+ years of experience writing automation using with OOP languages (C#, Java, Python, etc.)
- Shows mastery with source control systems and CI/CD Pipelines
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in computer science, information systems, a related field; comparable certifications; or equivalent direct work experience
