Job Title – Software Engineer

The Purpose of This Role

As Software Engineer, you will serve as a full-stack developer in the application development of Data exchange Platform (Dex-DC) .You  will focus on both front end and back end technologies. You will be responsible for the development of software applications, ensuring they are built with quality, consistency to our standards, performance and responsive to the device accessing the application.

This Software Engineer will play a role in the conversion and implementation of WS client data.  The individual will be responsible for the creation of quality web based software components that are used by Fidelity’s workplace customers.  The Software Engineer will work closely with the project manager, systems analysts, architects, and other developers to design, build, test, and deliver the features that make up Fidelity’s internet experience.  They will be expected to work closely and collaborate with other developers on projects.

Responsibilities of the role includes.

  • Assists in determining and developing approaches to solutions.

  • Participates in team project planning.

  • Performs functional analysis for small to moderate projects.

  • Provides application support, problem diagnosis and resolution.

  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.

  • Identifies and resolves technical issues.   Provides technical supervision on small projects.

  • Works on multiple projects concurrently under moderate direction.

Required Technical skills

  • Experience in Client side development – Angular, NodeJS.

  • Open Source Frameworks - Spring MVC, Spring Boot.  XML, Integration with SOAP and RESTful WebServices, WS security

  • Strong software development skills using Java and web application technologies in a service oriented architecture

  • Experience in Server Side Java, J2EE, JSP/JSTL, Servlets, JAXB, JAX-WS, SQL, JUnit, and Tomcat are all required.

  • Working experience of Inversion of Control, dependency injection, and MVC design pattern

  • Expertise responsive web design and technologies

  • Expertise continuous integration and deployment - Jenkins, Udeploy, BIT bucket

  • Strong knowledge of Databases, and Azure environments.

  • Experience in Agile development methodology and Jira tool.

The Data Conversion and Implementation team (DCI) provides on-boarding services for corporate clients who engage Fidelity for the management of their various retirements, equity, benefit and pension service needs. Whether clients are brand new to Fidelity or subscribe to any of our offerings, the DCI team works closely with them in transferring their participant demographic and financial data, testing it thoroughly, and eventually putting it into production on Fidelity’s system.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or any other discipline

  • 2-4  years of experience in web technology

  • Full stack developer

  • Good to have working experience on data exchange platforms, and ETL tools like Informatica, Adeptia, Dell Boomi etc. 

Location: Chennai.

Shift timings: 11:00 am - 8:00pm
