Job Title - Software Engineer, Developer

When it comes to Workplace Investments and Defined Contributions Recordkeeping, maintaining regulatory compliance, mitigating / addressing risks identified by internal audit, developing public policy relationships, and leveraging market position to influence regulatory environment all become crucial

This Java Developer / Software Engineer role will contribute towards development and upkeep of the applications in terms of End-to-end Development, Enhancements and Maintenance of the applications in the product area

In this role you will develop applications and support a strong team of process specialists. You will be in very close coordination with the various client / participant facing platforms, business personnel, QE functions etc., to deliver the business value. The applications developed by you and your team will eliminate/automate the manual processes used the WI business. You will constantly be exposed to different and newer processing challenges requiring thought leadership to bring in technological solutions

The ideal candidate will bring in the following skills to the team

  • 3 years of hands-on experience, in Java Programming Language and its related ecosystem
  • Passionate about building career in financial domain.
  • Extreme collaborator who can effortlessly work with the team
  • High awareness of Technology Trends to be able to regularly contribute towards Technology and Frameworks discussions for flexibility, long-term viability, and faster time to market
  • Proven experience in working with cross-functional teams to develop moderate-to-complex or multiple software applications, to provide winning Business Solutions
  • Enthusiastic about communicating thought processes using various internal channels and group presentations and excellent written communications skills to help develop and streamline comprehensive technical and knowledge documentation for the product area

Technical / Behavioral

  • Practices & Patterns: Object Oriented Design and Development, Model-View-Control and Component-based development
  • Open-Source Frameworks: Spring MVC, Spring Boot Spring Core, Apache Camel, XML, Integration with SOAP and RESTful Webservices, WS security
  • Implementing Security layer for the web application using Spring Security Feature
  • Collaborate with peers and superiors on process improvement ideas, policy and procedure enhancements, and opportunities to improve our customer's service experience by constantly driving the innovation message
  • Hands on experience on Spring Boot, Angular; Azure and Database (Oracle, preferably) experience will be a definite plus
  • Good understanding of Reporting and Business Intelligence Tools like SAP Business Objects or Power BI; hands-on experience will be a bonus
  • Hands on version control tools GIT Stash
  • Hands on experience on build tools Maven / Jenkins
  • Familiarity with Cloud technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher

The Skills that are Good to Have for this role

  • Experience working in Financial Services Domain, with exposure to Recordkeeping will be a definite plus
  • Developing web-based applications using UI technologies including HTML5, Bootstrap CSS
  • Knowledge and experience in technologies including SOA, XML, iBatis / Hibernate, Multi-threading, JSON

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of hands-on software development experience in reputed product or technology consulting organizations
  • Bachelor or Masters’ degree in Computer Science of Information Technology
  • Devops and Cloud Stack Experience would be an advantage
  • Team player, with a great attitude to experiment and learn
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
