Senior Software Engineer/Developer

Position Description: 

Develops, optimizes, and operates Business Process Management (BPM) software solutions. Builds process solutions using Camunda, Java, Java Script, Groovy, and RESTful API. Facilitates secure interactions between systems to obtain or store information by consuming RESTful Application Programming Interface (API) Integrations using Postman and Camunda. Creates modern User Interfaces (UIs) for user interactions in business process workflows -- HTML, CSS, and Form.IO. Designs Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN 2.0) processes and implements designs using Camunda Modeler. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.  

• Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.  

• Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.  

• Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation. 

• Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing. 

• Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.  

• Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems. 

• Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. 

• Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project. 

• Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives. 

Education and Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing BPM applications or RESTful APIs.  

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing BPM applications or RESTful APIs. 

Skills and Knowledge: 

Candidate must also possess: 

• Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) implementing the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to deliver enterprise-wide BPM solutions by applying BPMN 2.0 standards using IBM BPM or Appian in an Agile environment; collaborating with product owners to build an itemized backlog using Agile tools JIRA or TFS, and providing ongoing application support using incident management software -- ServiceNow. 

• DE developing robust and maintainable BPM solutions using process modeling, service orchestration, and process re-engineering, and building User Task Interfaces for BPM workflows IBM BPM or Appian; consuming REST API or SOAP integrations in a BPM environment, and generating and processing JSON and XML payloads and responses. 

• DE identifying resolutions for technical problems using log files and administration consoles, reviewing incidents and implementing recovery actions, and carrying out root-cause analysis to develop logical conclusions and recommending alternative configurations using REST API in a BPM environment. 

• DE developing and maintaining Web applications according to Agile methodologies, developing responsive front-end Web applications using Bootstrap, JQuery, or Javascript; and implementing and styling Web pages using HTML or CSS.
