Fidelity Center for Applied Technology (FCAT) has the mission to catalyze innovation for Fidelity and our clients and supports the entire Fidelity businesses.  Within FCAT there is a group leading the efforts on how Blockchain technology could both disrupt our current businesses and provide new opportunities for new products and services. We currently have a multi-disciplinary team of software engineers, researchers, designers, product managers, security and compliance experts tackling several opportunities.

The Purpose of Your Role

You will be part of a tremendously talented and diverse DevOps team responsible for building and maintaining multiple environments.  You will bring cloud management and sysadmin skills for application deployment and management while assisting in build engineering activities and looking for ways to automate the end-to-end deployment process.  You have a passion for technology tempered by a level-headed approach to problem solving, and experience with cloud technologies and various CI/CD tools supporting trading platform, we are looking for a Senior Trading Execution Site Reliability Engineer who can join help with our execution systems.

The Expertise You Have

  • Ensure continuity of critical trading operations, prioritizing resolution of system issues with a sense of urgency

  • Partner with technology and trading teams to continually evolve and deploy system architecture

  • Support core market connectivity and correspond with exchanges regarding trade order activity, connectivity, and other related technical issues

  • Implement and maintain connections to various trading venues, exchanges, and liquidity providers

  • Set up and manage physical and logical ports for broker-dealer connectivity to exchanges

  • Ensure seamless access to multiple markets, including regulated exchanges, ECNs, and third-party venues

  • Monitor trading system performance, proactively identify issues, and implement lasting solutions

  • Deploy, maintain, and monitor proprietary trading applications ensuring system uptime and reliability

  • Implement FIX (Financial Information eXchange) protocol for standardized communication between trading parties

  • Manage access controls and encryption for sensitive trading data and communications

  • Have extensive knowledge on Production on-call support for Cloud Infrastructure which is running in EKS platform

  • Have extensive experiences in Change, Incident, Problem Management & on-call support

  • Have extensive knowledge on observability tools (Preferable - Datadog), Grafana & Prometheus

  • Have experience in monitoring various aspects like Log, Metrics, APM, Event, Infrastructure & including of Dashboard creation

  • Have experience in multiple AWS services like EC2, EBS, S3, NLB, IAM, Lambda, Cloud-Watch, Cloud Trail & VPC. Rehydration or Patching knowledge in cloud infrastructure

  • Have experience in Microservices Architecture like API Gateway or APIGEE

  • Can triage, execute root cause analysis and be decisive under pressure

  • Have strong communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely put forth concepts and ideas

  • Capable to work with a variety of individuals and groups, both in-person and virtually, in a constructive and collaborative manner to build and maintain effective relationships

  • Have exposure to Networking Design, Security, and Cloud Architecture fundamentals

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's in computer science, Information Technology, or related engineering disciplines

  • 3+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Systems Integration, or a related role required

  • 3+ years of hands-on professional experience with Linux operating systems, network configuration, and server management required

  • Strong understanding of network fundamentals, including network routing protocols, TCP/UDP, multicast, network offload, and kernel bypass technology required

  • Proficiency in Python and Bash required

  • Experience with KDB+, MongoDB, and NoSQL technology preferred

  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerization technology preferred

  • Self-driven and curious, with the ability to solve problems uniquely specific to our trading setup and learn on the job

  • Strong experience with IAAC tools is a plus.

  • Cloud and Infrastructure experience is a strong plus.

The base salary range for this position is $76,000-$144,000 per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
