Principal Software Engineer

Job Description:

Strategic Advisors Technology (SAT) is looking for a mid-tier (Java) focused Software Engineer to work on a strategic program in Fidelity. We are looking for an individual who continually strives to advance engineering excellence and innovation.

The Purpose of Your Role

You will actively contribute to the design and development of the code base while collaborating with multi discipline team members and customers.  You’ll use your critical thinking skills to translate storyboards and use cases into applications that give Fidelity a strategic edge.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years overall hands-on programming and software development experience.

• Full-stack software development knowledge and experience with Java, SpringBoot, Messaging (ideally Kafka), OO, XML/JSON, GIT/Maven, CI/CD (Jenkins), SQL (Relational database knowledge – Oracle preferred), ORM (preferably myBATIS).

• Hands-on experience with Cloud Technologies and Services such as AWS EC2 or EKS.
• Knowledge of maintaining or developing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
• A focus in practicing test automation (unit, component, integration, and functional tests), and test-driven development practices.
• Appreciation of Agile standard methodologies within the Scrum context.
• Expert understanding of coding patterns and engineering standard methodologies.
• Experience mentoring and coaching engineers.
• Exposure to developing on, and supporting, complex distributed software solutions/platforms.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders.
