The Expertise We’re Looking For

• You care about doing excellent work with excellent people.
• You have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent and you want to learn more.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Oracle SQL & PL/SQL.
• Expertise in data analysis.
• Experience in SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning.
• Understanding of all application layers within an AWS cloud and Java Spring Boot environment.
• Experience working in an Agile software delivery environment, with exposure to continuous integration and continuous delivery tools.
• Expertise with Test Automation Tools and Frameworks e.g. Spock,  Cucumber.
• Experience of working with a distributed team.
• Investment Management business insight desired.

You will join a team that is at the forefront of engineering in Asset Management Technology with a high level of focus on TDD, ATDD, Continuous Integration/Delivery & engineering excellence. We want to work with an engineer who is versatile, always eager to take on new problems and share solutions as we push the technology forward. Working independently as well as collaboratively, it is paramount for this person to have a ‘can-do’ approach to teamwork.

The Skills You Bring

• Familiarity with logical data modeling and relational database design.
• Previous use of Agile or Scrum methodology.
• Proficiency with a source control system.
• Whilst the role is database focused, experience is required in the following areas
  • Object-Oriented Software development with an understanding of associated development languages, specifically Java and/or Python, Spring boot.
  • Working experience with some or all of the following: AWS, Containerization, associated build and deployment CI/CD pipelines, Lambda development.
  • Design of REST APIs and an understanding of microservice architectures.

• Having excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to run with multiple tasks at a given time.
• Lead and present a technical solution (e.g. POC) and the underlying business requirements that drove its development.
• You thrive in a team environment, collaborating openly and actively contributing to how work gets completed.
• You are able to act independently under general direction.
• Ability to provide technical guidance to your team.

• Investigate creative practices and share them with your team-mates.

The position aligns to Strategic Advisors Technology (SAT) division of Asset Management Technology (AMT) which provides worldwide technology and support to the Investment Management, Research, Trading and Investment Operations functions.
