Principal Cloud Data Engineer
The Role
The Principal Cloud Data Engineer is a key contributor to the Fidelity Wealth Technology Product Health team. Your role empowers the organization through crafting and delivering data solutions to support strategies that improve overall application, product, and platform health in the areas of stability, enterprise standards compliance, performance, cost optimization, and security. With a team first, collaborative mindset, you work across the organization and with enterprise business partners to understand the overall technology product ecosystem and enable consistent, reliable, scalable, and meaningful reporting.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or related subject
- 7+ years of on-the-job experience with databases: connecting, joining, and compiling complex data/sources.
- Knowledge of and experience with: tools, techniques, and processes for complex data gathering, data trending, data monitoring and proactive alerting, and data modeling/analysis on complex datasets
- Advanced experience (3+ years) with data movement and ETL using: SQL, python, NiFi, Rest API
- Aptitude for writing clean, testable, readable, and easily maintainable code and associated documentation.
- Experience with complex data environments, including cloud enterprise data warehouses, Datamart’s, ODS
- Experience with Snowflake, ServiceNow, Cloudability, AWS, Azure, Divvycloud, CloudAware preferred.
- Experience with Agile methodology, framework, and practices needed.
- Synthesis of data and research into strategic insights and practical recommendations
- Work with multiple business partners to deliver & design sophisticated reporting and visualization of Wealth Technology Product Health.
- Provide analysis leadership on sophisticated systems analysis, often across subsystems and companies, in a matrix organization.
- Ability to manage deliverables independently and with a high degree of efficiency.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, conceptual thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Good negotiation, facilitation and influencing skills.
- Self-motivated, independent and strategic thinker
- Performing complex data modeling and analysis to support actionable recommendations.
- Influencing leadership on key decisions with clear and concise recommendations derived from data analysis.
- Defining internal requirements for data controls, monitoring, and exception reporting for process governance
- Create and manage data pipeline and warehouse to support reporting requirements.
- Creation and management of executive level monthly and quarterly reporting
