Director, Systematic Liquid Alts Technology

The Role

The Systematic Liquid Alternatives Research Engineering team is seeking a strong technical engineer to strengthen our business initiatives in Quantitative Research and Investment Technology (QRIT), focused on our Systematic Portfolio Implementation and Construction solutions. 

 

The process of turning quantitative insights into actionable investment strategies is a critical component of our success, and as an engineer on the team you play a significant role in driving this process. You will build a sophisticated low touch systematic rebalancing platform that helps us manage all strategies and order generation workflows with focus on Liquid Alternatives Strategies. Your work will be crucial into enhancing our proprietary portfolio rebalancing platform, a key differentiator that drives the success of our systematic investment process.  Our focus on optimal portfolio construction across our diverse strategies is incredibly important. QRIT is a highly-selective, deeply technical team that collaborates with researchers and portfolio managers, while simultaneously exploring new technologies that advance the capabilities of our platform.

 

The Expertise & Skills You Bring

  • 10 years of software engineering experience
  • Must be adept in Java (our primary enterprise application language) and working knowledge of Python  (our primary language for the investment team.
  • Mastery of design patterns and object-oriented programming techniques
  • Strong understanding of best practices for large scale application design, SOA, microservices, distributed compute, containers, and use of the cloud.
  • Strong attention to detail, passion for careful testing
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with distributed team members
  • Understanding or experience in (quant) finance a large plus


The Team

Asset Management Technology (AMT) provides worldwide technology and support to all the Investment Management, Research, Trading, and Investment Operations functions. Quantitative Research and Investment Technology is part of AMT and is responsible for delivering & maintaining solutions for supporting Fidelity’s systematic investment strategy products.

 

The base salary range for this position is $103,000-$218,000 per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
