Position Description:

Develops and supports mission-critical solutions in multiple technology platforms, frameworks, and languages, and experience with Public Cloud environments – Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure. Deploys and supports highly distributed, multi-tiered systems at scale within Cloud environment -- AWS. Improves Cloud application operation and delivery within container orchestration systems -- Kubernetes. Operates and implements distributed and highly concurrent service-based architectures, including microservices, containerized services, and serverless architectures. Develops transaction paths that span across Cloud and on-prem.

Primary Responsibilities:

Facilitates discussions among component owners to improve end-to-end understanding of transaction paths.

Provides consulting to architects and developers on common patterns and tactical, reusable solutions.

Influences adoption of stability principles by presenting facts and data.

Drives operational readiness discussions and reviews of new solutions and products.

Develops frameworks for self-assessment of applications on various stability and dependability pillars.

Troubleshoots stack-wide engineering issues related to hardware, software, network, applications, and Cloud service providers.

Confers with systems analysts and software engineers/developers to design systems.

Reviews information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.

Develops and oversees software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Site Reliability Engineering (or closely related occupation) developing Web, Middleware, and Cloud applications targeting Windows, Linux platforms, and public Cloud services (Azure and AWS).

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Site Reliability Engineering (or closely related occupation) developing Web, Middleware, and Cloud applications targeting Windows, Linux platforms, and public Cloud services (Azure and AWS).

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing Web, Middleware, and Cloud applications targeting Windows, Linux platforms, and public Cloud services (Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS), using programming languages C#, Python, and Java; architecting and developing enterprise software applications and automation solutions using Cloud application development solutions - AWS/Azure Serverless, Compute, and Database and Storage services with a focus on stability, security, scalability, and performance.

DE designing and developing Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines for enterprise Cloud solutions using GitHub, Azure DevOps, and Jenkins pipelines; developing platform automation, using PowerShell, YAML, and JSON; and automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration management, using Infra as Code technologies -- AWS Cloud Formation, Terraform, ARM templates.

DE designing and developing Monitoring and Reporting solutions using AWS, Azure telemetry tools -- Azure Monitor, AWS Cloud Watch, Data Dog, Microsoft Power BI and Grafana.

DE performing database design and development, using relational (PostgreSQL and Azure SQL) and NoSQL (Cassandra, DynamoDB, and Azure Cosmos) databases.
