Job Description:
Role
The Director of Engineering is responsible for working closely with the Vice President of Engineering and lead a team of engineers to architect, design and build pilots and new products. Candidates must be comfortable working with a small team of developers in a fast paced and highly ambiguous environment working with emerging technologies, high risks and uncertainty.
Design and build enterprise software leveraging blockchain and cryptographic technologies. Direct code writing and set technical direction. Lead the team to ensure that requirements are turned into service designs and drive overall architecture of digital assets solutions. Requires collaboration and interaction opportunities with architects across the firm in forums as well as external to Fidelity (e.g. industry consortia and solution/vendor interactions).

The Expertise We’re Looking For
Bachelor level degree in Computer Science, Engineering or another technical field
Experience working with a variety of programming languages, frameworks, operating systems, and platforms
Experience with Golang, TypeScript/JavaScript or Java
Experience with event drive architecture and micro services
Experience with Agile Methodologies
Able to take a concept and turn it into a finished product
Ability to quickly learn and adopt diverse technologies
Ability to think strategically: creative thinker. Strong problem-solving skills.
Hands on work style: Dynamic can-do attitude, proactive and curious in nature.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge in securities trading ( Equities, Options and Crypto currencies )

Strong software programming skills
Proven track record designing and building complex end-to-end systems (full stack developer)

Experience with databases, Relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and Non-Relational (MongoDB)
Strong Object-Oriented skills and experience with UML
