Director/ Chapter Leader, Quality Engineering

Location: Westlake, TX

Hybrid: 2 weeks per month in office

The WI Quality Engineering team is seeking a dynamic, forward thinking experienced organizational leader who is customer obsessed and committed to quality execution and delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience across the technology stack from Data Warehousing to UI automation frameworks and will lead a team of Quality Engineers across the globe from our Westlake, TX office.

The Team

The WI Quality Engineering team designs, develops, implements, and supports our suite of varied products and services at all layers of the technology stack. Our goal is to create an outstanding user experience that delights our customers, anticipates their needs, and matches services or solutions to support effective decision making. As part of this effort, we are working to ensure that users of our internally and externally facing applications have a seamless experience across multiple platforms. This is a fast paced, dynamic group that uses innovative technologies to create powerful tools and a best-in-class user experience.

The Expertise You Have

  • BS or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or Quality Engineering.
  • 10+ years' experience in directing Quality Engineering/Product Ownership and managing the overall testing effort of QE Test Engineers
  • Proven leadership experience with support of large program/product delivery across a globally distributed team.
  • Detailed understanding or hands on experience with Test Automation frameworks and CI/CD pipeline preferred.

  • Your experience with software testing and delivery in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Your demonstrated experience in implementing Agile Engineering Practices focused on Continuous Integration/ Delivery with emphasis on Code Quality & Test Coverage
  • Your strong oral and written communication skills
  • Your familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts and scripting languages (Java, JavaScript or equivalent)
  • Your strong technical skills including a broad understanding of data warehouse, relational databases, file processing, APIs, and web-enabling technologies.
  • Your solid understanding of the software development process including analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution and planning.
  • You will act as a Quality Engineering Product owner, directing and managing the overall testing effort of QE Test Engineers in support of large program/product delivery across a globally distributed Agile environment.
  • Your strong attention to detail demonstrated by your ability to follow and develop specific, outlined, and detailed procedures and standard methodologies.
  • Your familiarity with the use of test automation tools, such as iceDQ, Selenium, Playwright, Karate, Rest Assured or equivalent as well as demonstrated experience with associated frameworks.
  • Your strong leadership and interpersonal skills, ability to maintain good working relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Your ability to work effectively in global team distributed across geographic locations: North Carolina, New England, Texas, Ireland, India

  • Working with teams to define strategy for implementing automated testing in support of CI/CD across platforms.
  • Ensuring appropriate definition of test scenarios, creation of test plans, creation, and execution of automated test scripts and/or manual test cases.
  • Working across an Agile landscape (Product Areas/Squads/Chapters) to ensure quality standards and best practices are being adhered to, and work collaboratively with leadership on areas of improvement.
  • Evaluating automation opportunities within key product areas and develop a product automation roadmap in addition to strategies for delivery of automation.
  • Managing test efforts across multiple environments and throughout all phases of the development life cycle and ensuring that delivery teams are addressing all open critical issues in a timely manner.
  • Managing and providing mentoring, training & guidance to Software Engineers in Test
  • Working in conjunction with all functional groups to identify potential future improvements to the overall process, requirements gathering and documentation or test templates.
  • Assisting in analysis of current processes and proposing recommendations for improvements
  • Providing technical guidance to other team members & applying best practices and implementing standards as defined by the Quality organization.
