The Opportunity

"We are seeking a senior software engineer to lead the technical development of an analytic decisioning platform.  You will be part of a highly energetic team of software engineers to create the next generation software platform for FICO’s software transaction analytics capabilities. This role involves leading a frontend engineering team responsible for generation of transactional processing execution flow employing micro frontend pattern for high-volume low latency decisioning and analytics execution. These capabilities embody patented and unique market value that drives critical business value in a high growth area. This opportunity offers a unique leadership role to work with cutting edge technology applied to one-of-a-kind business problems." – VP, Software Engineering.

What You’ll Contribute

• Work with stakeholders to comprehend and provide feedback on business requirements for your software platform capability.

• Collaborate with product managers to understand priorities and usage scenarios of product features.

• Collaborate with user experience personnel to understand personas within usage scenarios.

• Develop micro-frontends(MFE) and reusable domain specific UI components and assemble them as solutions.

• Collaborate with architects to drive the architecture for your software platform capability.

• Participate actively in peer-reviews of solution design and code.

• Collaborate within working groups of software engineers to create software engineering standards, guidance, and processes.

• Continuously improve engineering practices for the software platform to support efficiency, reliability, and serviceability goals.

• Assist research, case studies and prototypes on technologies to ensure the software platform remains the leading analytic decisioning platform.

• Collaborate with technology suppliers to address FICO’s technology needs.

• Coach other software engineers on creating their domain designs.

• Follow internal standards and best practices and help refine them.

• Collaborate with QA engineers to design and implement non-functional tests.

What We’re Seeking

• Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science or minimum 10 yrs of relevant experience with UI development.

• Strong hands-on coding experience in TypeScript, Angular 17+, RxJs, and NgRx with a deep understanding of state management in complex frontend architectures.

• Experience in developing Micro Front Ends (MFE).

• Solid understanding of the foundation and building blocks of web and the UI.

• Experience working across the stack to deliver world-class user experiences.

• Experience writing semantically correct and clean HTML, CSS, SASS with affordances for accessibility.

• Familiarity with the Nx, Cypress, Lighthouse, Webpack & Module Federation.

• Familiarity with the Karma, Jest, Jasmine, Playwright

• Ability to define and drive design transformation to an end state that is based on simplicity, modern software design patterns, open-source software, and cloud environments.

• Technical expertise across all deployment models on public cloud, private cloud, and on-premises infrastructure.

• Experience creating, documenting, and communicating software designs for complex products.

• Experience with domain-driven, event-driven, and microservice architectures.

• Experience in building, tracking, and communicating plans within agile processes.

• Experience coaching / mentoring individuals and teams.

• Experience with supporting production software deployments.

• Experience with commercial software product processes.
