Junior Backend Engineer, Billfazz

What You Will Do:

• Take responsibility for the overall availability and reliability of the system, ensuring robust monitoring is in place.
• Provide feedback on architecture and approach, guiding teams to make data-driven decisions.
• Implement code and conduct code reviews.
• Design systems within a microservices architecture.
• Participate in backlog grooming and sprint planning.
• Work autonomously to create and execute a vision that propels the product ahead of competitors.

What We Are Looking For:

• 3+ years of relevant backend engineering experience, proficient with languages and frameworks, preferably Golang or Ruby on Rails.
• Expertise in SQL and database design.
• In-depth knowledge of RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts.
• Proficient in using Git.
• Proven experience in system design and building systems from scratch.
• Ability to maintain and scale systems effectively.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Interest in being groomed for a leadership role within the team.

Nice to Have:

• Interest in financial systems, security, and financial crime.
• Experience working with large legacy production codebases.
• Relevant experience in payments, retail, or consumer financial services.
• Experience developing in a zero-downtime CI/CD environment.
• Ability to read and write frontend code is a bonus.
