Senior Sales Engineer - ASEAN (based Singapore)

Fastly is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Sales Engineer to join our growing team in Singapore. We are looking for someone who is not only technically proficient but also possesses a strong curiosity and passion for technology. As a key member of our small but high performing ASEAN sales team, you'll play a crucial role in driving technical sales and supporting our customers' success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing technical expertise and guidance to customers throughout the sales cycle
• Conducting technical presentations, proof of value activities, and product demonstrations
• Addressing complex technical questions and objections from prospects and customers
• Leveraging your experience with various vendors to position Fastly's solutions in Content Delivery, Video Streaming, Security, Edge Computing and Observability effectively

We're looking for someone who:

• Possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You get people excited about technology and love to help engineers learn something new
• Can effectively manage multiple projects and priorities. 
• Is comfortable with frequent travel within the ASEAN region during weekdays
• Has a proven track record of leveraging multi-vendor environments to create comprehensive solutions, working with partners and maintaining long term customer relationships.

Experience & Technical Requirements for the position:

• Established experience in a senior technical  pre sales role
• Hands-on experience with at least two of the following: web acceleration and optimization tools, content delivery networks, edge computing solutions, or web application security control tools
• Extensive experience with DNS, TLS, proxies, and web application firewalls
• Proficiency in web performance optimization techniques
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, cloud service providers and infrastructure-as-a-service offerings
• Experience with API integration and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with Internet facing security vendors, proxies and WAF solutions
• Programming experience in a common web development language (such as JavaScript)
• Demonstrated experience in Internet facing cybersecurity solutions, and DDoS mitigation

Additional Skills

• Business fluency in English plus one other language from the ASEAN region
• A demonstrated ability to manage priorities and work across multiple time zones
• Engaging and impressive presentation skills

Work Hours: 

• You’ll work both remotely and from the Singapore based office as required. This position will require you to be available during core business hours in Singapore with a Monday to Friday working week. On occasion, travel and customer requirements may require working outside core business hours.

This position is open to Singapore based applicants with the ability to work without sponsorship

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.  

This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager. Expected travel includes trips to the USA at least once per year and travel to India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, The Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Korea.
