Position Overview:

The Director of Software Engineering is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategy, development, and execution of software solutions across the organization. Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership:
   1. Define and execute the software engineering vision, aligning it with organizational goals and growth strategies.

2. Team Leadership and Development:
   1. Lead and mentor managers and senior engineers across application development, QA, infrastructure, and tools.
   2. Build and scale teams to meet the demands of ongoing projects, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
3. Project and Delivery Management:
   1. Oversee the delivery of complex, high-impact software projects, ensuring on-time and high-quality execution.
   2. Set priorities and allocate resources effectively to meet business needs and deadlines.
4. Operational Excellence:
   1. Establish and enforce engineering best practices, processes, and standards to drive quality and efficiency.
   2. Proactively address technical debt, scaling challenges, and performance bottlenecks.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
   1. Partner with product, design, and business stakeholders to deliver user-centric solutions.
   2. Facilitate clear communication across teams and leadership to ensure alignment and transparency.
6. Innovation and Problem-Solving:
   1. Introduce new technologies and methodologies to improve development processes and product quality.
   2. Lead efforts to innovate and optimize existing platforms to support growth and scalability.

In Los Angeles, the salary range for this position is $212,000-$265,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. In NYC, the salary range for this position is $232,000-$290,000. The listed salary ranges are specific to Los Angeles or NYC and may not be applicable to other locations. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
