Description

The Front Office Solutions team provides market-leading solutions for Portfolio Managers and Traders that span the Portfolio Lifecycle. Our products, Portfolio Management Platform (PMP), FactSet OMS, Portware/FactSet EMS, and Analytics APIs, can be integrated or used individually with other products that clients are using. From analysis through execution, we build solutions that power the front-office.

The Trading Solutions - Engineering team is modernizing the front end and back-end infrastructure of our Portware Enterprise trading platform while simultaneously integrating FactSet’s best of breed product suites to empower client workflows. We are currently seeking a ‘Software Engineer’ to be part of our team responsible for developing backend APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze user requirements & participate in multiple software development processes including Coding, Testing, and De-bugging & Documentation
  • Adopt test driven development methodologies and write automated unit and integration tests
  • Work in agile team environment and ability to communicate and collaborate with Product Developers, Direct Manager and Engineering peers.
  • Contribute to ensuring high-quality product delivery by performing code reviews and integration testing

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of Core Java programming experience in building server side API for real time enterprise wide applications

Critical Skills:

  • Firm understanding of Core Java APIs, including collections, multi-threading.
  • Strong experience using Design Patterns and experience using frameworks like Spring and Restful services.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must
  • A keen problem-solver with strong technical and analysis skills.
  • A thorough understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, and data structures
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Have good knowledge of agile best practices and methodologies

Additional / Desired Skills:

  • Experience in using AWS cloud tech stack is a plus
  • Knowledge of frontend frameworks such as Angular, React or Vue is a plus
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

The budgeted salary range for this position in the states of Connecticut and New York is $110,000.00 - $130,000.00
