PROCESS BRIEF

Analytics and Trading Engineering is responsible for FactSet’s industry leading Portfolio, Risk, Quantitative, Fixed Income and Front office solutions.  These products are used by thousands of Asset Managers and Traders around the world every day to assist with investment decisions, analysis of performance, risk management, and the presentation of results.  Analytics Engineering’s product space represents a high growth opportunity for FactSet.

SUB-PROCESS BRIEF

The Trading Engineering group is currently seeking an Lead Engineer  in our Hyderabad location. The team is responsible for the development, enhancement and support of FactSet’s Trading suite of products.  As one of the most senior members of the team, this individual would have responsibility  of all aspects of our engineering through an agile development lifecycle, from development, to design reviews, to CI/CD, to cloud migration.   You’ll be part of a dynamic team that is focused on execution and delivery.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver solutions that meet existing and future needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability & reliability
• Adopt test driven development methodologies and write automated unit and integration tests
• Work in agile team environment and coordinate with architects, engineering leads, managers and product managers
• Mentor and assist other junior engineers in design, implementation and code reviews
• Proactively advise and inform the leadership with pertinent information with respect to technology and products
• Foster a culture of continued learning with an eye on SRE and stability and digital transformation to solve our customer needs.
• Apply best practices to their own work, and propagate this information within the team
• Help in hiring strategy.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• At least 8 years of experience in financial services technology, ideally with a focus in investment management.
• Firm understanding of Core Java APIs, including collections, multi-threading and real time messaging technologies
• Strong knowledge of financial equity or derivatives products, market data feeds, trade lifecycle and post-trade processing, portfolio management, order and execution management systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must
• Energetic, hard-working, detail-oriented, hands-on with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to set own goals based on shifting priorities for self even in an Ambiguous situation
• Ability to articulate and quickly adopt development best practices
• Willingness to work as a member of a team, including participating in code & design reviews
• B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent

Desired Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of management experience
• Experience managing small teams
• 8+ years of Software Development
• Patience and ability to teach/mentor others Train and mentor new hires
• Ability to multi-task and manage demands of more than one project
• Ability to work as part of a geographically diverse team
