Job Description

Experian is looking for a talented senior engineer to join our Site Reliability Engineering team. This team is focused on system performance, optimization, and keeping our AWS platform running reliably at scale. The ideal candidate should have an extensive background in implementing highly performant solutions in AWS, be well rounded, self-motivated and enjoy complex problem solving.   Looking for someone who has extensive AWS background as well as experience in developing and managing applications at scale.   


Responsibilities: 
• Optimize microservice and serverless processes on robust distributed system.  Applicant must be able to understand process flows at an architectural and code level inorder to identify performance bottlenecks and failure points. 

• Discover, design, implement changes to existing services with the focus of improved reliability, performance and standardization. 

• Determine areas of inefficient resource utilization and help determine the right amount of resources for both platform stability and cost efficiency. 

• Integrating with our product development teams to understand their services to support them and work on SRE related platform enhancement projects. 

• Share discovered issues and present solutions to SRE and development teams. 
• Evaluate process performance and be able to identify issues as well as design and implement solutions 
• Load test systems to evaluate capacity. Manage capacity planning for growth. 
• Troubleshoot production issues providing root cause analysis and designing solutions to prevent future occurrences 
• Monitoring of services and creating intelligent alarming for quicker incident detection and resolution. 
• Build automations and internal tools to streamline processes. 
• Collaborate with other engineers on code reviews, infrastructure, and adhere to software development methodologies 

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science or related field 
• 7-10+ years of exceptional programming skills  

• 3+ years of application development experience in AWS  
• Experience working with Cloud environments and technologies (AWS)  
• Expertise writing and optimizing multi-threaded high-performance applications 
• Proficient in developing service-oriented (SOA) and REST architectures 
• Solid experience with microservices architecture and Domain driven design 
• Expert knowledge of web application security 
• Familiarity creating, using and optimizing Docker Containers 
• Working knowledge of noSql and relational databases 
• Attention to quality and detail 
• Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology 
• AWS optimization techniques 
• Amazon Web Services deployment and integration 
• Client integration security and vulnerabilities 

• Excellent communication skills. Ability to easily integrate themselves with and work with new teams.
