Job Description

Cloud Site Reliability Engineers should have knowledge of automating Infrastructure creation, deployment, and management in private, public and hybrid cloud models. You will have a solid grasp of automating Infrastructure within AWS using Terraform and Ansible as well as proficiency in other scripting languages such Python and PowerShell. You will have a hands-on approach and be able to work from high-level architecture to detailed design and implementation using DevOps and SRE approaches.

The Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for: -

• Delivery of high-quality infrastructure as code solutions across the Experian Cloud estate.
• Collaborate with Software Development teams, Product Managers, and Business Owners to ensure smooth deployment and operation of systems.
• Build CI/CD pipeline configurations to orchestrate provisioning and deployment of both large and small-scale systems.
• Automate tools to monitor system health and reliability to support business process requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments.
• Communicate status and risks to the product teams.
• Technical planning, code creation and execution within a self-organised Agile team
• Development of and adherence to policies and procedures to ensure all work is executed to a high standard
• Communication of team progress and roadmaps
• Continual improvement of quality and efficiency of delivery

As such, we are looking for someone that has experience of working in a medium to large environment with extensive knowledge of AWS, automation, product development and Agile methodologies. The successful candidate will have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, have strong communication and interpersonal skills with a solid technical background in automation skillsets such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines.

Technical Skills – Core

• Proven track record and experience of managing workloads in AWS
• Good understanding of key Architectural principles such as High availability, disaster recovery and platform resiliency
• DevOps skillset such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins
• Scripting and automation experience – i.e. Python, PowerShell, YAML, GIT
• Atlassian Suite – Jira, Confluence as well as Bitbucket

Qualifications

Technical Skills - Desirable

• Experience of Containerisation with tools such as Docker and Kubernetes and Amazon EKS
• Demonstrable Windows and Linux server OS knowledge
• Solid understanding of Networking principles
• Strong cost management discipline

Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of Agile working practices (Scrum, LeSS, Kanban)
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and experience with ticket tracking software, specifically Service Now
• Advanced troubleshooting skills
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with internal/external customers, vendors, management in both formal and informal situations
• Ability to innovate and work without direction/supervision
• Ability to think creatively
