What you'll do:
Design and implement products and solutions that are highly scalable with high quality, clean, maintainable, and well-documented code across the full technology stack.
Work collaboratively with all members of the technical staff and partners to build and ship outstanding data-warehousing and reporting solutions for Expedia's Cruise brands.
Assist with supporting Production systems (includes investigating issues and working towards resolution)
Exercise creativity and provide alternative solutions to a given problem removing roadblocks and driving issues to closure.
Create/update documentation for the purpose of sharing knowledge between team members.
Actively participate in group technology reviews to critique work of self and others.
Work with various Expedia teams to enable Cruise within Expedia's overall platform by building and maintaining solutions that harmonizes with the whole EG ecosystem.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience
5+ years of software development experience
Reliable and collaborates well with others with excellent written & verbal communication skills
Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and/or other JavaScript libraries & frameworks in particular React.js
Experience with cloud-computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services
Experience working with Linux
Experience with Java  and Spring Framework along with good grasp of OO design with strong design patterns knowledge
Knowledge of data center and cloud architecture design principles and protocols
Knowledges of networking technologies (Ethernet, TCP/IP)
Good knowledge of full web stack and modern web application architecture
 

Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge with Java/Spring boot and REACT framework
Working knowledge with SQL databases

***This Engineer will be expected to be on-site at our Vancouver, CA office Tuesday-Thursday each week.***

The total cash range for this position in Vancouver is $112,500.00 to $157,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $180,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
