Basée à Montréal, l’équipe est à la recherche d’un(e) développeur(-euse) de logiciel pour concevoir sa plateforme de contenu évolutive. Elle souhaite trouver une personne qui aime concevoir des services à partir de zéro, qui s’intéresse à simplifier l’architecture et à découvrir de nouvelles technologies et qui n’a pas peur de remettre en question le statu quo. Dans ce rôle, vous aurez l’occasion d’explorer plusieurs nouvelles technologies, notamment Kotlin, GraphQL, Elasticsearch, la programmation réactive et les technologies de mise en cache.

Votre mission :

  • Écrire du code simple en appliquant des principes de conception orientés objet, des structures de données et des algorithmes
  • Créer et maintenir des services Java et Kotlin basés sur Spring
  • Concevoir, développer, déboguer et modifier les services de la plateforme de contenu
  • Écrire des tests unitaires, d’intégration et d’acceptation de façon à appuyer nos réseaux d’intégration et de déploiement continus
  • Vous servir des principes de l’ingénierie de résilience pour chaque élément conçu
  • Soutenir et maintenir les services de contenu relatif aux destinations
  • Collaborer avec l’équipe responsable des produits et d’autres développeurs
  • Contribuer à la création de cadres d’applications et de bibliothèques réutilisables pour simplifier le développement de logiciels
  • Participer aux revues de code et défendre les pratiques et les principes exemplaires

Votre profil :

  • Baccalauréat dans un domaine technique connexe ou expérience professionnelle pertinente équivalente
  • Passion avérée pour l’acquisition de connaissances, surtout dans les domaines de la technologie, des motifs infonuagiques natifs et de l’architecture de systèmes
  • Au moins deux années d’expérience en tant que développeur(-euse) d’applications principales dans l’écosystème Java
  • Capacité à travailler de manière indépendante sur des fonctionnalités de leur création à leur finalisation ainsi qu’au déploiement en production
  • Compétences démontrées en développement logiciel avec les langages de programmation Java ou Kotlin ainsi qu’une bonne connaissance du cadre d’applications Spring
  • Expérience de travail avec les API Rest (l’expérience avec GraphQL ou gRPC est un atout) et connaissance de base du développement de services utilisant Spring Boot pour les programmes infonuagiques (par exemple, AWS)

Our Destination Content team is dedicated to building products that help travelers go places and broaden horizons. The team offers innovative, performant and scalable solutions to provide all major Expedia websites with personalized and relevant destination content.

Based in Montreal, Expedia Destination Content team is looking for a Software Engineer to build its ever-evolving content platform. Our team wants the right candidate who enjoys building services from scratch, loves to challenge the status quo, simplifies the architecture and loves to learn new technologies. In this role, you will get the opportunity to learn many technologies including: Kotlin, GraphQL, Reactive programming, ElasticSearch, caching technologies, etc.

What you'll do:

  • Write clean code applying object-oriented design principles, data structures, and algorithms

  • Build and maintain Spring-based Java/Kotlin services

  • Design, develop, debug, and modify Content Platform services

  • Write unit, integration, and acceptance tests as appropriate to support our continuous integration and deployment pipelines

  • Practice resilience engineering for every component you build

  • Support and maintain the Destination Content services

  • Collaborate with the Product team and peer engineers

  • Help build reusable frameworks and libraries to simplify development

  • Participate in peer code reviews and advocate for the best coding practices and principles

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field or equivalent related professional experience

  • An avid learner, especially in the areas of technology, cloud-native patterns, and system architecture

  • 2+ years of experience as a back-end software developer in the Java ecosystem

  • Ability to independently work on features from inception through to completion and production deployment

  • Excellent coding skills in Java and/or Kotlin, with a good knowledge of Spring framework

  • Experience working with Rest APIs (experience with GraphQL and/or gRPC will be an asset), and familiarity with the development of services using Spring Boot on Cloud (e.g. AWS)

  • Experience with Agile development methodology

The total cash range for this position in Montreal is $83,000.00 to $116,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $133,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience.  Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
