The Content Insights Team is responsible for enabling our EG customers to make informed decisions when planning and booking their trips. We do this by providing relevant, high-quality content, diligently and reliably.

It is an exciting time in the team, as we build the next generation of Content Services which will feed many of our EG brands, including Brand Expedia® and Hotels.com®. We are looking for a highly motivated, team-orientated, development engineer to come and join our team of technologists.

What you’ll do:

• Proactively build relationships with your peers and collaborate to tackle problems.

• Willing to explore and/or learn the UI side of development on the path to becoming a full-stack engineer in the future

• You understand the importance of system and technology integration and the basic features and facilities involved in the integration process.

• Take advantage of opportunities to build new technical expertise in a specific engineering area

• Participate with a DevOps mentality - You build it, you run it

• Develop and test standard software applications and related programs and procedures to ensure they meet design requirements.

• Work in an environment where elegant, clean, maintainable code is paramount

• Collaborate with partners when developing solutions to issues.

• Apply formal training methods to the current workload and feel comfortable question the status quo.

• Report clearly on current work status.
   

Who you are:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a Technical field; and equivalent related professional experience (2+ Years). This may include: Developing software in a team environment of at least 5 engineers (agile, version control, etc.); Building and maintaining a software project/product in production environments in public/hybrid cloud infrastructure.

• Willing to learn and/or exposure to Microservices is a requirement for this role, in the eventual path to become a full-stack engineer in the future for Content team with a primary focus on backend development.

• Experience working in AWS and continuous delivery practices is preferred but not mandatory.

• Relevant experience developing in Java/Kotlin

• Able to understand moderately sophisticated systems.

• Ability to test and monitor your own code.

• Understanding of testing and monitoring tools.

• Ability to debug applications.

• Understanding of how teams’ goals fit a business need
