The Bidding, Experiment and ML Engineering Team is looking for a passionate Software Development Engineer to join our team. This individual will work closely with the Bidding Operations and Data Science Teams, comprised of 30+ engineers and data scientists who are focused on solving ambitious marketing problems through data science techniques to enable EG to be aggressive in the Meta and SEM Marketing space through optimization of the auction space. This is a high visibility team and the work done by the team directly impacts the conversion metrics for EG

What you’ll do:

• You will team up with peers across the organization to build an understanding of cross dependencies and shared problem solving.

• You will participate in a community of practice to share and gain knowledge.

• You will seek new technical skills in cloud and platform technologies.

• You will share new skills and knowledge with the team to increase effectiveness.

• You will understand the relationship between applications, databases, data science models, and technology platforms.

• You will develop and test complex or non-routine software applications and related programs and procedures to ensure they meet design requirements.

• You will write code that is clean, maintainable, optimized, and modular with good naming conventions. You will also use software frameworks to write simpler code.

• You will fill data science problems requirements by applying your knowledge of databases and database design principles to solve data science requirements.

• You will assist with a whole systems approach to analyzing issues by ensuring all components (structure, people, process and technology) are identified and accounted for.

• You will spot areas of inefficiency in code or systems operation and offer suggestions for improvements.

Who you are:

• Bachelor's degree in a Technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.

• Equivalent experience includes:

• Building at least 3 software projects independently.

• Moderate strength in at least one language

• Understanding of data patterns and storage

• Understanding of software development theory and design.

• Understanding how the different functions created fit into team projects

• Able to understand lower complexity systems

• Demonstrate an understanding of testing and monitoring

• Ability to debug applications

• Ability to design software that is easily testable and observable

• Understanding of how teams' goals fit a business need.
