Expedia’s Fraud & Risk Management team builds high trust experiences to provide world-class fraud protection solutions for travel businesses. Employing decades of expertise in travel and the latest in technology and data science, our goal is to protect from fraud for travelers, suppliers, partners, and affiliates.

We are looking for a Product Manager for our global Fraud and Risk management platform operating across more than 100 countries and millions of travelers. Our ideal candidate will have experience working with worldwide, technology-enabled products or services tailored to power eCommerce and fintech businesses. The successful candidate will help execute parts of the roadmap and drive traveler experience.

What you will do:

  • Craft and edit components of the strategic vision for specific features in partnership with more senior PMs

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tactically organize and manage the product backlog in Jira, aligning to key themes and milestones for the vision

  • Fluently translate technical requirements to non- technical audiences, and vice versa

  • Develop deeper AI/ML knowledge and brainstorm with technical teams to identify opportunities for AI/ML in product feature requirements

  • Communicate to the broader team why the chosen engineering design proposal will best meet product requirements

  • Consider business, legal, and financial constraints in product planning and execution

  • Create business cases for products to enable prioritization; set goals tied to financial results and leading indicators

  • Relate the product to EG’s broader strategy and proactively identify opportunities to increase product success

  • Independently gather and analyze market data to identify trends and insights

  • Shape product roadmap & backlog based on market and customer insights

  • Leverage advanced metrics to provide insight into product performance across market segments

  • Map out customer journeys and personas leveraging customer data with guidance; identify and document Jobs To Be Done

  • Recommend and execute relevant methodologies to rapidly generate an MVP through product experiments and usability testing as appropriate

  • Recognize when product metrics are outside desirable ranges and recommend strategies to improve performance

  • Leverage basic analytics tools to derive insights from existing datasets and product experiments

  • Proficient data- collection, data management; develop clear and compelling data visualizations to drive cross-functional decision-making

  • Use a consistent & defensible prioritization framework; develop sound judgement in prioritization decisions

  • Write detailed functional user stories based on requirements for owned products and features

  • Ensure appropriate backlog prioritization in day-to-day Agile ceremonies; perform iterative validation of work output to ensure quality

  • Actively engage with key stakeholders across the product team, establishing trust, respect, and credibility

  • Promote inclusivity, respect, empathy, & cross-functional awareness across teams

  • Communicate clearly and concisely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

  • Articulate the product vision and help the team understand the "why" behind the requirements and strategy

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • 2+ years of experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology

  • Experience with feature delivery, executing on roadmaps across multiple stakeholders, including working closely with tech teams from design to ship

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired

  • Experience with end-to-end feature delivery

  • Known for superior communications skills with high attention to detail

What would make you stand out as a candidate:

  • MBA or Master’s Degree

  • Experience working in Fraud & Risk management platform products in ecommerce setting, a plus if it is in a global setting.

  • Experience with SDKs, two-sided platforms and development tools, and managing developer personas

  • Ability to work autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment, with attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically

  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop project business cases

  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
